Well, last week was a good week, but I sorta bombed my goals. I did get a lot of reading aloud done with the kids, we had a great homeschool week, and Jesse and I had a great time at the Killer Tribes Conference. So I guess that’s gotta count for something, even if my goals list doesn’t look too impressive. 🙂

I love writing love letters! Hubby loves finding them, I hide them in his are or in a pocket I know he isn’t going to check until he gets to work. 🙂

Crystal, thanks so much for your honesty and humility! Thanks for keeping it real! And for encouraging those of us who are struggling with our goals!

Thanks for your kind encouragement!

I am excited! I actually did one of my 3 snail paced goals for the week last night. I got my new sewing machine out of the box and managed to thread it and get it working and made 3 burp cloths from a pin I had on my “baby shower gift” board on Pinterest. The first 2 were kind of wonky but the 3rd one was straight and very giftable. It has been 9 years since I have sewn anything beyond a straight seam and really over 20 years since I have sewn anything big. I know I might never get to the point where I can sew a dress complete with buttons in under an hour for myself again, but at least I might be able to dust off enough talent to teach my daughter the basics.

Woohoo! I’m proud of you… and you continue to be an inspiration to me!

I like to think that this week is going to be a fruitful (not busy) week!
Crystal says
I’m hoping for the same!

Good morning, Crystal!
I was just wondering-where did you learn to embroider?
I wish I had that skill!
Crystal says
Hmm, I think my mom taught me way back when I was a little girl. I LOVE embroidery — and it’s the one domestic skill that I’m actually fairly decent at. Well, provided I just stick with simple patterns. 🙂

I’m super-impressed with your 3 AM wake-up time for the next few weeks, Crystal! It’s awesome that you’re willing to make that sacrifice just so your family won’t see less of you. It shows awesome dedication to your calling as a mom and as a businessperson too.
Crystal says
Thanks so much for your kind encouragement!

This week went well for me. But I didn’t get my gardening done like I wanted too. So I am hoping to work on our garden plan and plant a few seeds this week.
I hope you have a productive week.

So I have to ask – If you are getting up at 3am, what time are you going bed???? I need to start the early to rise challenge! I feel much more accomplished when I get up and going early in the morning! This will be a busy week, I hope we all accomplish our goals!
Crystal says
I’m shooting for 8 p.m. 🙂

Goals- I’m in a conundrum over goals. I love them but people around me are feeling like it’s not a good thing. Please help with your thoughts. Or, maybe it’s just a teenager who is calling out for extra love? I will investigate this.
Abby @ Mother on a Mission says
I’m fairly new to goal setting, and for the first time ever I’ve set 10 goals. I’m surprised by how excited I am to take them on!
Crystal says
Yay!

I totally bummed out my goals list past week too. How bad is it that I take comfort in the fact that I’m not the only one? I think I’m subconsciously holding out for spring. This is the first year (since January) that I’ve done goals. Maybe, I need to re- focus? Motivation?

I loved Rascal!
Our library had it on audio and it was like he was sitting in our living room telling the story!
3a.m.?!?!? Ugh!:)

My friend/co-worker and I want to read Early to Rise! I saw your post this morning…3AM?!?! YOWZA! That’s awesome! A little too early for me but still awesome. 🙂 I’m trying to work my way back up to 4:45AM. I’ve gradually inched up to 5:45AM and that hour lost has made a noticeable difference. I’m a much happier Mom when I start my day at 4:45AM.

I have to ask … you always put writing a note to your husband on your to-do list. I’ve often wondered, though, doesn’t it just feel like another thing to-do when you do it that way? How does he feel knowing it’s on your to-do list, like it’s something forced rather than from the heart? If that’s too personal I understand, but I think about that every time I see it listed.
Crystal says
Great question!
Jesse knows it’s on my list almost every week and he doesn’t mind a bit. 🙂
A good marriage doesn’t happen; it’s something you have to work at. So Jesse & I are intentional about doing things that help foster that spark in our marriage. We’ve found that when we’re intentional about fostering it… it keeps the sparks flying which then produces more spontaneity and sparks. 🙂
