I skipped setting any goals last week because it was supposed to be a completely “off” week for me. I still exercised, read, and did some writing, but for the most part, I spent the week truly relaxing, soaking up the sun, and just enjoying really amazing conversations and time with my husband.
Now that I’m refreshed and recharged, it’s back to real-life again! And honestly, I’m really excited to hit the ground running this coming week — because I didn’t quite know what to do with myself with so few responsibilities last week. 🙂

I’ve just set my goals for this year. One of them is to grow my brand new blog. Thanks, Crystal, for the inspiration!

I see you are speaking at a MAPS on Thursday, and wondered if this is open to the public for the talk only. And do you know what the difference is between MAPS and MOPS? thank you.
Crystal says
I think MAPS is similar to MOPS, just a different organization.
As far as I know, Thursday and Friday are open to the public. I’d recommend calling the number on the site to be sure, though, because I’m not affiliated with the organization and could be wrong!

I have such fond memories of Mrs. Frisby and her family. 🙂

The sickies have FINALLY LEFT our home… YAY! We’ve been sick for so MANY weeks. I can’t wait to get cracking at our goals this week. I will get to be home almost all week and we are actually on time for school. YAY!

I think you should change your running goal to 26.2 miles, then you could say you ran a marathon (hee hee). My son just ran 6 miles for the first time today. I am beaming with mom pride right now. His goal is to do 10K races this year, then 1/2 marathon distance the following season and a full marathon the year he graduates (really wants to do the Disney World Marathon). He set the goal and I am helping him chart it out.

If you keep influencing and inspiring me, it just might happen! 🙂

I am so happy for you that you and your hubby got away. It is SO necessary! In fact I could use even a day away right now! 😉 I was just wondering if you could share what your goal list might have looked like when Silas was only a year old? I know we shouldn’t compare ourselves but I am normally a pretty productive person and even when I only had 2 children, I found it “do-able”. I was still able to get some things done and feel ok. Since I have had my 3rd, I can’t seem to get anything done. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and God Bless you for all that you share with us. 😉
Crystal says
My life has changed a LOT in the past two years since I have a lot more help with business and home stuff plus my children are so much more independent. It’s hard to even remember what it was like when Silas was a year old, but I can tell you that I was constantly exhausted, behind, and overwhelmed then as he still wasn’t sleeping through the night and I had too much on my plate. And there were many days when it felt like I was just running around in circles getting nothing done.
I’d encourage you to keep it very simple, give yourself grace, and just stick with small goals — maybe a few things every day that you can accomplish in 5 to 15 minutes. Little bit by little bit, your efforts will add up!

Welcome back, Crystal! You were missed last week, but so glad you had such a wonderful & rejuvenating time!
Carol@simple_catholic says
So glad you enjoyed your days off. For me, it is aways nice to get away for relaxing time but that’s in part because it makes it that much more fun getting back into things – at least for my Type A personality!
Good luck with your MAPS presentation.

My goals for the week are to plant stuff for my garden.
Amanda says
Work on Updating baby books (I’m super super behind)
Do some baby food cooking
Pay off our final credit card ( 😀 😀 😀 :D)
Spend (at least) 30 minutes every day doing something with the kids that doesn’t not involve me being on the phone, watching TV or us on the computer ( a bad bad habit I’m trying to break!)
Keep up with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.
Trish says
Congratulations on the debt payoff. That’s so exciting.

I’m glad you were able to have some time ‘unplugged’! I remember going on camping vacations as a child in the early 80’s. We’d be gone for 2 or 3 weeks and we were never distracted by cell phones or Facebook. Ahhh…those were the days. Maybe. 😉
Shelly says
I am glad you have such a good week this past week. We spent some time this week getting our garden ready for planting. So this week the kids and myself need to go through the seeds and make a planting chart. I also will be working on decluttering the kitchen.
I haven’t done any freezer cooking recently so I may make a few things for the freezer too.

Crystal,
I’ve always wondered why you put having friends over as a goal. Is it because you’re making a special meal? Why do you consider this a goal? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!
Crystal says
It don’t always write it down on my goals list when we’re having company or guests over, but in the case of two weeks ago, it was fulfilling a promise I’d made to one of my children. And I knew that if I wrote it down on my list, it was much more likely to actually happen and it was really important to me that it happen since I’d made a promise to that child. Sometimes, goals end up on my list solely for this reason — because I want to make sure they actually get done, even if they don’t really have anything to do necessarily with my yearly goals. 🙂
I hope that makes more sense!
The Prudent Homemaker says
It does! Thank you for explaining!
Uche Unogu says
thanks for sharing this. I have often written goals for the year and will continue to do this. But now, I see how goals for the week can be helpful!
Frugal Family Finds says
Some of my goals for this week are:
* Planning Spring & Summer Garden
* Listing Ebay items in my store
* Writing a mailing a letter at least four times this week
* Walking/Running every day this week
& much more! Hope everyone reaches their goals!

Welcome home!

Glad you had such a good week! It’s nice to come back refreshed and excited to hit the ground running again.
I didn’t accomplish as much as I would like because I had sick kiddos.
