Regal Movie Theaters around the country are once again offering $1 Summer Movies for kids this summer. This begins in May or June, depending upon the theater.
Here are the movies showing:
Please note: Our family would not personally consider all of these movies “family-friendly” for all ages. Be sure to check out the reviews of the movies online beforehand.

Thanks, My Frugal Adventures!
Thank you for adding the important disclaimer at the end…and we agree: There are many wouldn’t take our children to, either.
BTW, here’s the most accurate movie-review site we’ve found: http://pluggedin.org/
I agree about pluggedin! Please be aware that they tell everything possible that Could be offensive and use it to help make decisions for your family.
Thank you for this reminder! This will keep my kids busy this summer!
You may want to call and check with the theater before hand and make sure they are showing movies. We tried to take our kids last year and found out after we got to the theater that they weren’t participating that summer. We tried another theater in the area the next week and they never opened the gate out front. Schedules for both theaters were listed online. We went almost every week three years ago with no problems at all.
How frustrating! 🙁
Looks like a fun line-up… for the older elementary crowd. I’m disappointed there aren’t more (or any?) preschooler movies.
We usually shield my very sensitive pre-schooler (age 4) from anything PG, but she saw both the Nut Job and Penguins of Madagascar in the theater. She was fine with both. The others on this list we haven’t seen, so I can’t vouch for those! 🙂
Rio2 and Turbo are also good. The Lego Movie doesn’t have any bad content but I don’t know if it would hold a young preschooler’s attention.
