Cracker-barrel
One of our family's very favorite places to have our weekly dinner out is Cracker Barrel. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and–my favorite!–the prices are just right. In fact, our family can eat there for under $25 including a tip. It's a fun family "splurge" that doesn't bust our budget.

We've always been partial to Cracker Barrel, but in the last few months, I've become a whole lot more excited about this restaurant. Why?

It all started back about five months ago. I was talking with a few frugal bloggers who are attending the Blissdom Blogging Conference in Nashville in a few weeks. We were saying how fun it would be if we could coordinate a frugal blogger's get-together.

Well, one thing led to another which led to another and pretty soon, we'd brainstormed up the idea of the Savvy Blogging Round Table Dinner and Discussion. We mapped out the event–which now had morphed into a dinner for 75 people!–and we got ready to contact potential sponsors since we knew an event of this size wasn't really in our grocery budgets.

Cracker Barrel caught wind of our idea and, before we even thought to approach them about sponsoring us, they generously volunteered to be one of the main sponsors of the event! We were floored and we quickly accepted their idea.

The 75 tickets for this event were spoken for within a few hours, and many of you who wanted to attend weren't able to get in. However, never fear! We're hosting a Savvy Blogging Twitter Party on Thursday evening (January 21, 2010) from 9-11 p.m. EST and you are invited to come.

There will be loads of information on how to become a Savvy Blogger and there will be prizes–lots of prizes! In fact, once you check out the prizes being given away, I think you'll know why everyone's abuzz about this Twitter Party.

But wait–there's more!

Cracker Barrel has also donated a gift basket for me to give away on my blog. This gift basket includes Cracker Barrel Coffee, a box of their Corn Muffin Mix, a box of Cracker Barrel Buttermilk Pancake Mix, 100% Pure Maple Syrup, Dickinson's Wild Main Blueberry Syrup, and some other fun goodies.

They sent our family one of these gift baskets and the girls and I made a really delicious batch of pancakes the other day for lunch. If there ever was such a thing as Cracker Barrel in a box, this was it!

Would you like to enter to win a gift basket from Cracker Barrel? There are four ways to enter. (If you'd
like more
chances at winning, you can do each of them for three separate entries
into the giveaway!):

::Leave a comment on this post.

::Leave a separate comment telling me one of your favorite things about Cracker Barrel.

::Follow me on Twitter here and then leave a separate comment in the next 24 hours letting me know you've done so. If you're already
a follower, just leave a comment telling me you already follow me.

::Subscribe to the MoneySavingMom feed by RSS or email and then leave a separate comment in the next 24 hours letting me know you've done so. If you're already
a subscriber, just leave a comment telling me you're already a
subscriber.

This giveaway ends at 6 p.m. CST on January 22, 2010. One winner will randomly be selected from the
entrants and will be notified and posted on Monday, January 25, 2010.

Hillshire farm
As I mentioned last week, Sara Lee, Hillshire Farm, and Walmart have teamed up to create a new website called Tasty Holiday Ideas. In addition to helping you out with holiday ideas and recipes, you can enter a giveaway for a $500 Walmart
gift card!

To enter, just go here and submit a picture or write up an
entry telling how Sara Lee and Hillshire Farm have made your family
holidays special. You can enter up to twice per day and I'd love for one of my readers to win the $500 gift card!

To close up the giveaways for 2009, I'm giving away one free product coupon from Hillshire Farm to 20 different winners. You can use these to purchase anything from the Hillshire Farm line–from Lit'l Smokies to smoked sausage to kielbasa or lunch meat.

Litl-smokies

They sent us a few coupons and I used them to buy beef Lit'l Smokies so we can make these Lit'l Smokies Skewers for our family's Christmas Dinner this coming week. My husband picked out the recipe and I'm excited to make it for him!

Would you like to win one of these 20 coupons? Just leave a comment on this post (click here to do so) within the next 24 hours and you'll be entered!

24-Hour Giveaway: 20 free products from Fisher Boy

by crystal on December 18, 2009

Fisher-boy
It's a busy time of year and Fisher Boy contacted me to see if they could make life a little easier for some of my readers by offering them free Fisher Boy products. While fish sticks might not be your normal fare, I figured some of you would enjoy the opportunity to get some for free!

They generously sent us some samples of their Fisher Boy line along with the fixings for dinner last week and I enjoyed having a night off from cooking. My girls had never had fish sticks before, but they gobbled them up–much to my surprise! I was happy to read on the box that they use vegetables for coloring as opposed to artificial coloring–something we try to avoid at our house. And while I don't foresee us making a habit of having fish sticks regularly on the menu, it was fun to change things up for a night!

I'm giving away one free product from Fisher Boy to 20 winners today. Would you like to win? Just leave a comment on this post (click here to do so) within the next 24 hours and you'll be entered!
