I am wondering if anyone here is a member of Amazon Mom? With all the great diaper deals we have had at CVS and other places, does $79/year membership really save me money on diapers??

I’d recommend signing up for the free three-month trial first… I’m not sure that $79 is worth it, but it’s definitely worth it to sign up for the free trial!

$79 is for Amazon Prime. It works in conjunction with Amazon Mom – so, if you join Prime, you can have the benefits of Mom too – all for $79. But, you can also just join Mom for $39, but you don’t get the benefits of Prime.

We do have Amazon Prime (the $79 one) and I love it. We cancelled Netflix (we don’t have any tv reception/cable, so that is our “tv”) and use Prime Instant Video instead. It ends up being cheaper than Netflix, spread out over the course of the year. The biggest benefit to me, though, is free 2 day shipping. I was forever buying extra stuff just to get “free” $25 shipping on Amazon. Now I can order lots of stuff without having to worry about hitting that mark. :)

Can you share a link that talks about this $39 Amazon Mom deal? I’ve never heard of it. I know Amazon Student is $39 but I’ve never heard of paying for Amazon Mom without getting Prime! Thanks for the info!

I think they must have changed how the program works… you’re right, it’s not there anymore. Looks like now the free Amazon Mom is just getting emails with details, with none of the other benefits. Too bad! Oh well, at least the three month free trial is worth a shot, if you don’t go ahead and do Prime for the year… though, like I said, I think it’s worth it! :)

You know what, I remember that now. Amazon Mom has changed a lot. You used to get one year free and then if you didn’t pay for Prime you still got 20% off diapers and wipes with Super Saver shipping. Now you don’t.

I had the free trial membership, but it wouldn’t let me get this discount. So I ended the memebership, and signed up again, and it went through. I got 4 packs (in 1 big pack) of natural diapers for $7…it was $.06 a diaper, which is even better than with coupons at the grocery store. (in my limited experience) Thanks for passing this deal along Crystal! I usually cloth diaper, but with all the traveling we have been doing, it’s become too much. Hopefully I’ll have him potty trained soon…:) A potty training post would be a helpful read! :)

Just wanted to say that I’ve had Amazon Prime/Amazon Mom for over a year, and I love it! The price of diapers fluctuates, but it’s almost always as cheap or cheaper than I can do with coupons at drugstores and Costco, and they bring it to my door! I cancelled my Netflix ($8/month = $96 per year), since you get free streaming with Amazon Prime. You also get an extra discount for subscribe and save (which sets up automatic shipments of diapers and other items at the interval you choose, and you can cancel or modify at any time). Plus, you get free shipping on all kinds of stuff. We don’t spend frivolously, and I resisted signing up for the service at first, but I can honestly say it’s been worth every penny for my family.

What a great deal!! Just ordered my box of diapers 160 count the total was $6. Im going to cancel as soon as i get my diapers :)

    • Katy says

Can you really cancel the Prime/Mom membership after the diapers ship and still get your full money back ($79)? I didn’t think you could do that with the membership, only the Subscribe-and-Save options…

      • jess says

Yes,you can since right now the first 3 months are free. So they dont charge you the 79 until after the 3 months, but you can cancel before the 3 months without obligations

I signed up, ordered Nature Babycare diapers 160 for $37.01-20% Subscribe and Save-$25 Amazon Mom-$5 SwagBucks gift card= $0 out of pocket. I could have ordered a Huggies box with more diapers for $9 out of pocket but I’m on a tight budget, and these diapers will be an added gift for my newborn niece. Back in March I ordered 4 packs of diapers from Walgreens, 2 newborn, 2 size 2, size 1 were out of stock, so now baby has a stockpile of diapers.
