You did a great job on our goals last week. All those fruits and veggies will be great for you. Getting more fruits and veggies is something I need to work on. I eat way to much bread and crackers.
This past week I finally got 7 hours of sleep each night, that is the first week in a long time and I felt so much better. I didn’t get my reading done at all but I have already it done for this week.

Thank you for always sharing your goals with us. It really has motivated me to set goals and revisit my goals to make sure that I am making progress. Your list of goals helped me to create my list of goals. I am going to have to add the 7 servings of fruits and veggies to my list.
I have also put working on becoming a writer on my list. I purchased the bundle of e-books that you posted. I have already begun reading and completing the assignments in one of the books. I loved every minute of it!! I literally had to force myself to stop working on it.
I can’t thank you enough for helping me start living my life on purpose!!

You’re doing an amazing job! Thank you for your kind encouragement; it means so much!
melissa says
I love your goal of eating 7 servings of fruits and veggies

So I finally followed your example and sent my husband a card last week. I was taking a chance, hoping he wouldn’t complain about spending money buying a card. 🙂 And he didn’t complain… he loved it! Yay!
melissa says
Thats awesome! I made my Hubby a card and but a snickers in it and a not that said “i love that you make me snicker” he looked at me and smiled. Little thing make them so happy. I’m glad you husband was happy!
Jamie Rohrbaugh says
LOL! Too cute!
Crystal says
In so many instances, it truly is the seeming “little” things that can make such a big difference!
Crystal says
Oh yay!!!
Molly says
I hope y’all have fun on your overnight trip!!

Here is my over-zealous list of goals for this week: http://theprudenthomemakerblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/goals-for-this-week.html
My goals include canning, sewing, gardening, and family goals.
Did you know that the new recommendation for fruits and vegetables is 9 servings a day? It sounds like you’re planning well!
Crystal says
Don’t tell me it’s 9 servings… and I’ll just pretend I didn’t know! 😉 Maybe I’ll get there soon, though!
Lea Stormhammer says
A really easy way to get there is to make sure half your plate is filled with fruits and vegetables, one quarter protein and one quarter starch. My registered dietitian shared this trick with us a while ago and it’s made a huge difference in how we shop and eat. Got my hubby off blood pressure medication that he was way too young for anyway! 🙂
You can do it!
Lea
Crystal says
Yes! That definitely helps!
Katie says
Trumpet of the Swan?! I /loved/ that book as a kid! I can’t wait to read it to my own kids. 🙂
Crystal says
We are *loving* it!
Mary Ellen says
I’ve been trying to get back into exercising after a hectic June month. I exercised 4 times last week and trying to get back into exercising 5 times per week each week again like I used to.
I finished “The Drunkard’s Walk: How Randomness Rules our lives” and “Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior” last week. Both books by Leonard Mlodinow and exceptionally interesting about how the mind works.
I just finished my Whisk Together Freezer Meal Project: a list of recipes, list for the fridge, shopping list and prep list for a 10 meal project! I’m so excited!
This week:
I need to start Dean King’s “Skeletons on the Zahara” – a true story about a shipwrecked American ship off the coast of Africa in 1815.
I will post 4 new blog posts.
I will exercise 5 times.
I will find time for myself each morning or evening.
I will locate a new positive psychology book and finish “The How of Happiness.”
I will organize one section of the house – hopefully the furnace room.
My blog is Whisktogether.wordpress.com – I try to keep my focus on homemade and healthy food along with my positive psychology discoveries, so my goals are listed here instead of posted there.
Mary Ellen says
Which now sounds weird because goals are one part of positive psychology actually. 🙂
Crystal says
These sound like fantastic goals! Here’s to your success!
Linda W says
I am going to try using your categories for goals because I can go way over board on what I want to do and it become unrealistic.
Thanks for the motivation
Crystal says
You’re so welcome!

Have a great week!
Mel says
SEVEN servings of fruits and veggies? Dang, girl! (Unless you’re counting French fries… 😉 )
Had some sorrow last week, so my priorities shifted accordingly. Next week I’ll be traveling so my focus for now is to work ahead as much as possible to insure that everything runs smoothly while I’m gone AND that I can hit the ground running when I get back.
Crystal says
If only French Fries could count! 🙂
I’m so sorry you had a difficult week last week. {Hugs!}
