Target: Free plus overage Robitussin!

by Crystal on February 19, 2013

Check to see if your Target has an unadvertised gift card deal to get a $5 Target gift card when you buy three select Bayer products. If so, here’s the deal you can do:

Buy 3 Bayer Chewable Aspirin at $2.24 each
Use 3 $1/1 Bayer Product from 1/6 SmartSource insert
Spend $3.73 plus tax out of pocket, get back $5 Target Gift Card
Free plus overage after coupons and gift card

In addition, there’s another gift card deal on Robitussin products: Buy 2 select Robitussin products, Get a $5 Target gift card. Here’s how to turn this into a money maker:

Buy 2 Robitussin DM Max Strength Cough & Cold (1 fl oz.) at $2.84 each
Use 2 $1.00 off any Robitussin Product coupon
Spend $3.68 plus tax out of pocket, get back $5 Target gift card
Free plus overage after coupons and gift card

Thanks, Common Sense With Money!

Is this deal when you buy 3 Bayer products? Or is it 2, as the scenarios suggest?

You’re supposed to buy 3. Thanks for catching my typo!

Mine says buy 2 bayer and real simple magazine. I don’t know if it will work if you bought 3 bayer instead. I might go ahead and try and see.

Unfortunately, this deal is not accurate. The tag on the Bayer items in the store is very misleading. It says you need to “buy three to get $5″ but the small print says you need to buy two Bayer products and one Real Simple magazine (4.99) in order to get the gift card. I tried doing this deal tonight and had to get everything refunded because I had not purchased the magazine.

The aspirin is 2 and a Real Simple magazine

The smallest size I can find is 4oz. Bummer!

Score! While I couldn’t find the smaller size of Robitussin, I paired it with the Advil Congestion and a $3 off coupon from the 2/10 newspaper. Also redeemed some kicks for a $2 gift card and used ibotta to earn myself a total of $1.85 in the end!! (I work at Target though, so I got to use my 10% discount. Otherwise I would have only made about $1.10.)

There was nothing below $5 something for the robitussin, so never mind that :-( I could use the cough syrup but didn’t want to pay that.
