48-Hour Giveaway: Born to Deliver (10 Winners)

“The long hallway gave way to cold, sterile walls as Kathy was ushered into a room that would forever change her life – The Green Room. It held the first of many secrets to come, but she wasn’t about to let anything get in the way of her quest for happiness. With steely determination, Kathy’s elusive dream led to a string of boyfriends, unwanted pregnancies, and failed relationships. Little did she know that while she was weaving her own web of deceptions and destructive choices, God was writing the plot of an even bigger mystery that was about to be revealed in a way she never could have imagined.”

I picked up Born to Deliver to read one afternoon and couldn’t put it down until I’d finished the entire thing! It’s the riveting story of one woman who has lived through more difficulties and hurt than many of us can imagine, including a string of boyfriends, unwanted pregnancies, and failed relationships.

But this book doesn’t just share about dashed dreams and broken relationships. Instead, this book is a beautiful story of redemption that will leave you feeling encouraged at the goodness of a God who delights in turning the mess-ups we make into life messages and ministries for His glory.

If you’ve been wounded by other people, been in abusive relationships, and/or experienced deep hurt and heartache in your life, I think you will be especially blessed by Born to Deliver. Kathy’s story will give you hope that, no matter the mistakes you’ve made or the situations you’ve been the victim of, God can still use you for His glory.

I am misty and close to crying as I read this intro…replace Kathy’s name with mine and this is the story of my life, minus the ending because I am still trying to figure it out. Still working to give myself guilt-free grace over all that my past has brought me and am leaning on God every day to give me the strength to do that and move on. I needed this to come into my life today…this day…thank you.

So excited for this book! Kathy has been my midwife for the past 11 years and delivered 5 of my 7 kids not including the one I’m currently expecting.
Didn’t know most of her story until this book but God has and is using her greatly.

These stories really tug at my heart…for I am the daughter of a rape victim. My mother was just 15 and babysitting for a much older man. He came home drunk and had his way and I was the result. My mother had all the reasons in the world to abort me..besides being raped, she was the next to the oldest of 5 in a family filing bankruptcy and her own mother was pregnant at the time. They certainly had no money for another person to feed. My mother struggled for a number of years till she met the man who would later adopt me as his own. My heart goes out to young pregnant girls. I get very upset when I hear judgmental comments being made toward pregnant teens. When I see a young pregnant girl I can’t help but think of the shame and hurt my mother went through to deliver me. I wish there was some way to convey to all people to not judge. To teach others to have a heart of understanding and compassion..for you know not their whole story. You are only seeing a very small snippet of it.

First chapter was a tough read! I had my now 16 year old when I was barely 17…..its amazing how times have changed from when Kathy was a pregnant teenager-I can’t imagine living through that compassionless time! It’s so awesome that she went on to do such amazing things!

Yea Kathy! She was my midwife on my last 2 babies. Although she didn’t deliver my last one because I delivered in the van on the way to the Birth Inn. I need to get a copy of this book!
