Jessica Claire says
My biggest goal this week is to be a mom. We have also got some stuff that we have to do but I am planning on enjoying this week and not making myself do extra cleaning or cooking.
Ginger says
HI! I am super busy right now, but I wanted to say thank you for encouraging me to set goals. I am taking a focus on the family class through our school called “the Truth Project”, and we discussed how being organized is a Godly character. I thought of where I am most disorganized – my car- and have decided that is my goal for this week. If that is the only goal I get accomplished (the laundry may not get done, the dishes may not always be in the dishwasher) then I will feel super accomplished! Thanks for helping me set goals.
Kristi Kain says
How did the rice milk turn out?
Kellie says
Thank you for the free downloadable goal sheet. However, I really like how yours is done. Do you use a specific program?
Lining something out once it’s completed is so gratifying.
Kate says
Crystal, if you haven’t read it already, I would like to recommend “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom. It wouldn’t be suitable for your children because it is intense (it’s the story of Corrie’s life under the Nazi regime), but it is a good, inspiring Christian read. Reading about Corrie and her sister and their faith in God even through the worst of times was so inspiring to me. It started off a bit slow in my opinion, but it was a book that I have read and enjoyed many times.
LJoy says
Thanks for the inspiration. I’ve been reading your posts for the past few months and truly appreciate all that you share. I am trying to get more organized myself and find more time to be “present” for my family and friends.
My goals for the week.
1. Get to one early morning spinning class.
2. Spend some time each evening before bed in prayer and meditation.
3. Think of three things I am grateful for each day.
4. Write to one of my clinicians.
5. Make an apple cake for my office.
6. Plan a colleagues going away party.
7. Schedule my Mammogram.
8. Schedule appt to explore refinancing.
9. Read with my girls each day.
10. Schedule lunch with a friend.
Cheers!
Anne @ Modern Mrs Darcy says
I adored 7, and thought the 10 Habits of Happy Mothers was also quite good. I’m looking forward to your thoughts on both!
Stephanie says
I tried the Naan bread recipe. The bread turned out yummy, but my baking stone broke in the process. Not sure what happened, but the temperature in the recipe is really high. I preheated the stone from room temp slowly and the stone broke while in the hot oven. Just thought I would warn others that might be wanting to try this; you might be risking your baking stone.
Leah says
I don’t have a blog, so if it’s not ok to post this here, please let me know. 🙂 Here’s my list of goals this week.

I’m nearing the end of The 10 Habits of Happy Mothers–lots to chew on!! And very encouraging overall in the realms of intentional parenting and simple living. I’ve also read her Boys Should Be Boys–helpful too.
Nicole says
I missed this feature last week! Thanks for inspiring us!
sathya says
crystal,
your goals inspire me. your dedication and drive to being a good wife, mommy, homeschool teacher, businesswoman, and on top of all that to make time for yourself is commendable! what a true example of a well-rounded lady you are. thank you for the positive role model that you are to me and to many! most importantly, you are a sweet person with a generous heart and love for humanity. it is refreshing to see “real” people in this world. as a wife and mommy myself, i too strive for balance every day. . . it’s not easy!
Crystal says
Thanks for your kind encouragement!
Kathy says
Echoing Julie above…you know everyone is going to want to know about your Countdown to Easter study 🙂
So glad you and Jesse could get a week away to relax and invest time in your marriage. You kids(to me, LOL) are doing so well. Way to go!
Crystal says
Unfortunately, I don’t have a link to it because it’s not yet produced–we’re one of the beta test families for it for FamilyLife. From what I understand, they’ll be making it available for sale next year.
Bailey says
Hoping to stay motivated this week!
Erin @ My Mommy World says
Thank you for the link-up opportunity!
I can’t wait to see how your naan turns out…I’d love to make some at home. We love our local Afghan restaurant’s naan, but can’t eat there too often since we’re watching the budget.
Hope you had a great time on your cruise….so glad you’re back 🙂
Julie says
Can you share what your Countdown to Easter Study is?
Crystal says
We’re beta testing a new product for FamilyLife, so I don’t have a link for it. But hopefully it’s available for sale next year! If anyone has links to similar products, I’d love to hear!
Crystal from Crystal's Ramblings says
I feel like I am doing a terrible job with my goals lately. I am trying to get everything ready for a consignment sale (selling clothes and then being a vendor with my craft stuff). I think, I think I am Super Woman. I need to scale back my expectations of myself.
Lauren L says
Reading your goals motivates me to revisit and stay on top of my own! I love that you write a love note to your husband! I totally need to start doing that, it would mean so much to my husband. And I’m very intrigued by the Rekindling the Romance book, I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation!
Lexie says
Great goals…definitley made some myself. It’s nice to see everything actually written in front of you to see! Makes it more real 😉
Katherryn F. says
I really like this idea of having a weeks worth of goals. I always do t daily but find that I completely overwhelm myself. This was a nice change of perspective and will implement this, this week! Thank you!

My goal is to get back to making a goal list! It’s been a rough few weeks with 3 out of the 4 of us getting sick. I’ve lost my mojo….. Have to get motivated again!

Aimee says
Naan…mmmm…is it a gluten free version? If so, I’d love to hear how it goes! Your GF waffle recipe was DELICIOUS!!!
Crystal says
No, it’s not. I had planned to make it as one of my DIYs this year before I knew we’d be experimenting with gluten-free. Since not all of us are on a gluten-free diet, some of us will get to try it out. And if we love it, I’ll be motivated to try and find a GF version!
Lisa says
I am so excited.
Weekly goals come and go too fast for me. But I have set a HUGE goal to organize, PURGE and clean my whole house in the 40 days of lent.
🙂
Lisa
Brandy @ The Prudent Homemaker says
That sounds like a wonderful goal!
Molly says
I would really like to hear more about your going through the entire house top to bottom. Please.
Lisa says
Molly –
I am organizing my whole house top to bottom starting Wednesday on my bog. 🙂

Congrats on the Couch to 5k program! Keep up the good work!
angel says
Mmmmm, naan.
I’ve had this gluten-free version pinned for awhile.
http://fireandsalt.blogspot.com/2010/09/gluten-free-naan-bread.html
Have a fantastic week!
Kelly says
I’m doing Couch to 5k week 6 this week, also! Week 5 was HARD, but I did it! I didn’t think I had it in me to do the 20-minute run, but I totally did it last night. I’m pretty pumped to push myself on week 6!
Another goal: Try going wheat-free for the week. My tummy hasn’t been happy, and I’ve ruled out dairy, so next up is wheat!
And for enjoyment, continue reading “The Help” and get at least halfway through it. I just got a hand-me-down Kindle and I’m excited to do more reading.
Wendy says
Loved “The Help” It’s one of my favorite books.
Sheila says
Oh yeah, and get rid of 75 things, did 25 yesterday. 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement, being an example & being real!
Crystal says
Way to go!!!
Sheila says
Get my goals back under control. Got off track for a couple weeks.
Plan my daughter’s 17th birthday fun.
Make dairy free condensed milk so I can make her favorite dessert for her birthday.
Finish the marriage book I’m reading.
Prep my business for the new spring selling season.
Keep the house picked up & ready to show.
Crystal says
Do you have a link for the dairy free condensed milk recipe? I’d love to see it!
Sheila says
My daughter is allergic to the protein in milk, so she has given up a lot of goodies. She has a couple of favorite things that need the condensed milk and I haven’t made them for her because I couldn’t figure out how to get around it.
She found the link on pinterest. You’ll laugh, but it’s from PETA, http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/baking-cheat-sheet.aspx. Ignore the cartoon animals and the rhetoric because they have some great ideas for substitutions.
She tried the recipe the other day to make fudge. It sort of worked. It hasn’t “set,” but it tastes good. I’m going to try this week to make her “magic bars” for her birthday. Hopefully it will work.
Enjoy!
Crystal says
Thanks so much for the link!
Anna @ Feminine Adventures says
Your list of goals is always so inspirational. I hope you like homemade naan as much as we do!
My goals this week:
1. Exercise 5 times
2. Finish reading “Food: Your Miracle Medicine”
3. Get ready for my first giveaways (to celebrate paying off our student loans!)
4. Prepare for Lent as a family
5. Get rid of at least 100 [more] things.
Crystal says
I’m so proud of you for almost paying off the student loans–what a wonderful encouragement your story is! (Any chance you’d be interested in sharing a condensed version of your story as a guest post here? I’d definitely be interested!)
Sarah says
Figure out how someone broke into my amazon to write a ba d view of book.
Change or dlelte it.
Mackenzie @ The Random Path says
One of my goals for February is to make a dentist appt. Haven’t done it yet… I think I am procrastinating because I don’t like going to the dentist. But it must be done! 🙂
Anna @ Feminine Adventures says
Oh dear… that reminds me of another thing I need to add to my list. Thanks for the reminder.
Tya says
Mail some packages, finish reading Section 132, make beds for shelter and deliver, finish counters, plant spring flowers.
Nicole says
I really appreciate these weekly goals. Thanks to you and Stacie at Motherhood On A Dime, I get SO MUCH encouragement to keep trying every week.
Michelle says
I’m taking baby steps in decluttering…pile by pile! Thanks for the motivation to keep setting goals!
Katy @ Purposely Frugal says
This week I want to: do 2 runs, do weights once, make a call, send a couple of thank you cards, tally up our Feb. expenses so far, send a package to my cousin and finish a hand-made project.
[email protected] says
Thanks for the linkup Crystal. I am always impressed that you get so much reading done!
My goals are simple this week:
1. Get back on track with daily exercise. (I was a bit of a vegetable last week.)
2. Prepare for my upcoming trip to Blissdom (yay!).
3. Enjoy my family. 🙂
Stephanie says
I too am keeping it simple this week. Sometimes life just gets busy. It has forced me to see what is the most important on my goals’ list. So perhaps it is a good thing in a way.
Crystal @ Blissful Homemaking says
I think I am going to start the Couch to 5K program. Everyone I know that does it seems to like it!
Kayla says
I love reading your goal updates!
