Sign up for a free Gardens Alive catalog and you’ll reportedly get a coupon for $25 off any $25 purchase with your catalog. They were offering this for awhile and then they stopped, but I’ve been hearing reports from readers that it’s back again!

Reader Carol emailed in and said that shipping is $8, so if your order is only $17, the $25 coupon will cover your order plus shipping, making it entirely free.

Please note: You may also get a $25 off $50 coupon via email after you sign up. The $25 off $25 coupon will come in the mail on the back of your catalog.

When I signed up I got an email for $25 off of $50…not really such a good deal!

Elizabeth January 2, 2012 at 11:13 am

me too :(

Lori January 2, 2012 at 11:16 am

signed up for catalog and I got a “Thank you-you’ll be put on our mailing list!” checked email and it too also was $25 off a $50 order

I also got the $25 off of $50 when I signed up. Not the deal I was hoping to get. Going to pass on it now.

I got the email with the $25 off $50 but when the catalog arrived just a few days later the $25 free coupon was on the back of the catalog.

I received mine in the mail last week. I had signed up last year for the catalog. My catalog had the $25 off $25 on it.

Amy Zuck January 2, 2012 at 11:37 am

I think I didn’t get such a great deal last year, but this year I got the $25 off $25! So maybe you will get this next year?

Megan January 2, 2012 at 1:07 pm

I’m in the same boat. I think they figured when I didn’t buy anything last year with the less valuable coupon that they should try me again – and this time with a great coupon! I ordered once from this company before, when I lived in a different state, and they were terrific. I can’t wait to get some new seeds to plan this spring.

Amy Zuck January 2, 2012 at 1:41 pm

I think so too! I can’t wait to get seeds for our first year of a “real” garden since we moved to a place with a little bit of property! : )

Heather January 2, 2012 at 11:42 am

Yeah, I just tried it too and was sent a $25 off an order of $50 or more, so I would assume they aren’t using a $25 off $25 coupon anymore.

Crystal January 2, 2012 at 11:55 am

From what I understand, the $25 off $25 coupon comes in the catalog, not via email.

Katie January 2, 2012 at 11:49 am

I signed up for this last January (I think) and my first catalog I received had a $25 off $50 coupon on the front. We didn’t use it. But I just received another catalog last week with a $25 coupon (off any amount).

Last night my husband used it to order just under $20 worth of items, then applied the rest of the coupon to the shipping costs!

It’s definitely worth signing up for!

Rebecca January 2, 2012 at 11:55 am

I didn’t get anything, don’t feel too bad!

Gail January 2, 2012 at 11:58 am

I had previously signed up (Thanks to Crystal) and received a catalog from Gardens Alive just last week. On the back of the catalog is a coupon for $25 off my order. It says if my order is less than $25, I get my order free!

Snow on the ground today, but I’m, going to look through the catalog and see what I can order for Spring! I can almost smell those beautiful yellow roses on the back cover.

Just paid $2.90 for their Plant Guardian biofungicide solution shipped to my door! I live where the soil is poor, drains terrible and stays wet so none of the squash or pumpkins made it last year. I hope this helps! Well worth signing up last year! Thanks!

m January 2, 2012 at 6:16 pm

i did the exact same order for the same reason. crossing fingers. =]

rachel B. January 2, 2012 at 12:08 pm

I got this coupon a year ago and sent in my order with the coupon and quickly got an email and letter back saying i owed $25 and that their $25/25 deal had already expired (which my coupon was still valid) so it seemed like a bogus way to get new customers to me.

The Prudent Homemaker January 2, 2012 at 2:44 pm

There is a time limit on this. I have ordered from them twice before, both times with the $25 off $25 coupon. It’s usually just for new customers, and has an early-in-the-year expiration date. After that they usually offer a $25 off $50 coupon in their later catalogs. It does work.

Kristina January 2, 2012 at 12:55 pm

Does anyone know if the email coupon and the coupon on the back of the catalog are combinable?

Megan January 2, 2012 at 1:08 pm

They are not, according to the catalog coupon.

Megan January 2, 2012 at 1:13 pm

Crystal, I think you’ve mentioned that you’re not much of a gardener, but I thought I’d make sure you know that Gardens Alive! sells seed sprouters (to grow your own sprouts at home) and seeds for growing microgreens. Both super-easy and great homeschooling activities :)

Crystal January 2, 2012 at 1:21 pm

Thanks so much!

Amy January 2, 2012 at 2:16 pm

Can anyone comment on the quality of these products? Free seeds aren’t worth it if they don’t produce. I have my catelog here with the $25 in free stuff, but I can’t afford failed crops.

Megan January 2, 2012 at 8:22 pm

Amy–
I ordered some of these seeds last year with the $25 of $25 coupon, along with a small bag of fertilizer. I thought the seeds did very well, considering that they were organic. (In my experience, organic seeds from any company don’t have as great of a germination rate as traditional, non-organic hybrids.) If you started your seeds indoors and then transplanted them, you may have even more success– I just planted mine right in the ground after danger of frost. We didn’t have any problem with bugs or pests or diseases, and everything was delicious! But, if you’re not interested in using/trying organic veggie seeds, get the fertilizer or flower seeds instead!

Thank you!

Heather Smith January 2, 2012 at 6:15 pm

Got my catalog with coupon on the back page. Sent my order in the mail today. Getting free seeds for corn on the cob, green peppers, squash and roma tomatoes…….ALL FREE! Can’t wait. What a great deal. Free seeds = Free food!

Pamela Halligan January 2, 2012 at 6:39 pm

Thanks. I would like to get more into gardening this year, especially vegetables.
