Connie- I thought the same thing. While I understand the basic idea of the quote, I don’t agree with it entirely. We are called to be copies of Christ,unique and specially-designed but called to the purpose of growing to look more and more like Him.
Great quote – great food for thought! I think what it means to not be a “copy”, is to not covet or be envious of our neighbors’ life or lifestyle. By not getting sucked into that ‘keeping up with the jonses” type of mentality, and observing that we have been created for a purpose higher than living a typical, materialistic lifestyle in our society, that is one way that we imitate Christ in our lives.
