Great idea and a fresh perspective!!! I realistically think that I can make this. Alot of those holiday recipes seem too difficult and detailed. I am going to give this a try!!! Thanks!!!

Danielle B July 1, 2011 at 11:39 am

Sorry if this seems obvious, but is that cream cheese or whipped topping? Just want to be sure! Thanks!

@Danielle B. just to let you know – I was wondering the same thing. LOL

These are definitely cute. Going to have to check out the other ideas as well now!

I guess you could actually do either and it would probably taste delicious. I’m sooooo going to make this for the kids this weekend. I think they will get a kick out of it!!

Joy July 1, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Looks yummy!!! I’d use cream cheese!

Ashley July 1, 2011 at 1:23 pm

So cute! I’m definitely going to make this for my boys this weekend! They’ll love it!

Sweet!

Cute! You can also do something similar with waffles. Just place blueberries and raspberries or strawberries in the holes of the waffle to make the flag. Then use whipped cream (from a can works best) to fill in the white stripes in the flag. Very cute and fun!

Monica July 1, 2011 at 3:50 pm

This is so cute! I can’t wait to try it for my girls. I make the flag cake every year with strawberries and blueberries but this is something we can enjoy before the crowd arrives! Thanks for sharing!

thanks for the find Crystal! My little nieces are staying over this weekend and they LOVE making things like this :)

this is cute! And I have those fruits right now too. Actually I did a major stock up trip for fruits/veggies today so my fridge is packed right now. Crystal, after saying several times that I have never seen marked down bananas for a good price (with the exception of that 1day sale at Walmart for $.21/lb), I finally did! I got a huge bag (about 10.5 lbs!!!) for $1! They had several of them in a cart. They were not even all brown. They were yellow with some browning (less than half), no mold, etc. The only thing wrong was that there was one split open one in the whole bag. I had to read the tag like 3 times to make sure it really was $1 for the whole bag :D

Crystal July 2, 2011 at 11:26 am

Yay on your great banana deal!!!

Crystal July 4, 2011 at 11:59 am

just made a variation of this this morning. So yummy. Made french toast then smothered it in whip ream and pureed strawberries and then topped with the bananas and blueberries kids and hubby loved it.
