CVS has Dawn on sale for $1 this week. Use the $1/1 Dawn Hand Renewal coupons from the Home Made Simple coupon booklets to get it free. (Thanks, Koupon Karen!)

In addition, there’s a great deal on Nivea products. When you purchase $15 worth of products, you’ll get $5 ECBs. Here’s how to turn this into a money-maker:

Buy 2 sparkly Nivea Body Wash at $4.88 each (spend $15, get $5 ECB)
Buy 2 Nivea lip balm at $2.99 each

Use $2/1 Body Wash coupon from the Price Scanner (scan your CVS card at least 2 or 3 times to see if this one prints)
Use 1 Buy One, Get One Nivea Body Wash coupon from the May All You magazine
Use 1 $4/1 Body Wash coupon from the 5/2 RedPlum insert
Use 1 Buy One, Get One Nivea lip balm from the May All You magazine
Use 1 $1/1 Nivea lip balm coupons from the 5/2 RedPlum insert
Spend $0.87 plus tax out of pocket, Get $5 ECBs

If you don’t have the May All You magazine, it can still be a money-maker:

Buy 2 sparkly Nivea Body Wash at $4.88 each
Buy 2 Nivea lip balm at $2.99 each

Use $2/1 Body Wash coupon from the Price Scanner (scan your CVS card at least 2 or 3 times to see if this one prints)
Use 2 $4/1 Body Wash coupon from the 5/2 RedPlum insert
Use 2 $1/1 Nivea lip balm coupons from the 5/2 RedPlum insert
Spend $3.74 plus tax out of pocket, Get $5 ECBs

Thanks, Carrie from Frugalista!

Emily May 3, 2010 at 11:50 am

@Brittany, I was so bummed too when we didn’t get the $4/1 Q……I’m in central OH. I’m hoping my mom in PA got it.

Andrea May 3, 2010 at 12:15 pm

@Brittany, In the Dayton area, we got them.

Jilliane May 8, 2010 at 9:10 am

@Brittany,
:o ( I didn’t get it either!! I wish I had read your post before searching for it over and over again!! I thought I was going crazy! Every one is talking about the 4$/1 coupon. We should protest! LOL

When I scanned my CVS card at the red machine yesterday a CVS coupon for $2.00 off 2 body washes printed which I was able to stack with my coupons.

Rebecca May 3, 2010 at 9:21 am

How long do you have to wait between scans at the red machine? I tried a 2nd scan after the screen cleared, but it sain my coupons had all printed. Anyway… I still had a $5ECB from my Pampers deal last week, and I had to make an emergency t.p. run, so here’s what I did:

1 Nivea touch of happiness (sparkly wasn’t marked on sale)
1 Nivea touch of bliss
2 Nivea Hydrating lip
1 Dawn antibacterial

-2 $4/1 nivea body wash
-2 $1/1 Nivea lip
-1 $.20/1 dawn
-$5 ECB
Total oop $1.61 ($5 ECB back)

Then…
2 bags Sunchips (weren’t marked either, but were on sale 2/$5)
1 4pk scott 1000
-$1/2 Sunchips
-$5 ECB
Total oop $3.49

Dawn Hand Renewal is also 99 cents at Rite Aid this week, so free with coupon!

Andrea Q May 3, 2010 at 10:31 am

@Christy, Dawn Hand Renewal is not on sale at my CVS, just the regular “ultra” Dawn.

Caroline May 3, 2010 at 10:25 am

The CVS cashier today wouldn’t let me use the the $ off Nivea coupons with the BOGO Nivea coupons….even though I had 4 items and 4 coupons…anyone else had this happen? Oh well, I got the CVS coupon so it was only $3 OOP -still a good deal!

Andrea Q May 3, 2010 at 10:30 am

@Caroline, In my experience, cashiers and managers will not allow the use of a coupon on an item you are getting free with another coupon.

Asmith May 3, 2010 at 11:02 am

@Caroline,

I have been reading that CVS has changed the policy or that it is related to how the coupon is coded.. I have definitely in the past use B1g1 and dollar off coupon at CVS in the past.

I didn’t try it with this deal

diane May 3, 2010 at 2:56 pm

@Caroline, I had the same problem today. The cashier wouldn’t use the BOGO with the $4 coupon. I told her I have done it in the past and she said I don’t know of any cashier that would do that, so I just used the BOGO.

kelly May 3, 2010 at 11:10 am

we didn’t get the $4 nivea coupon, only $1. bummer!

Christy May 3, 2010 at 11:24 am

In Indiana, I didn’t even have a RedPlum insert … just Smart Source and P&G. Darn!

Megan May 3, 2010 at 4:41 pm

@Christy, Hi Christy, I’m in IN too (Indianapolis) and just this week I started getting the Red Plum in my mailbox rather than the Sunday paper. We might be a new test market – keep your eyes open!

Jennifer May 3, 2010 at 11:57 am

Has anyone had trouble with the $1/1 coupons when using them toward products that are $.99? I tried to buy reach dental floss the other day at Walgreens and use $1/1 coupon and the cashier wouldn’t let me use it.

Lara May 3, 2010 at 12:20 pm

I got lucky and got the $4 coupon. The machine at CVS was broke though, so no scanning for me. Still, I got the Dawn Renewal for free, and 2 Nivea body wash and 2 lip balm for $4 oop with tax and got my $5 ecb. The body wash smells so good, I can’t wait to try it. Great trip to CVS!

Wendy May 3, 2010 at 3:44 pm

I had the same issue today with CVS about the Nivea deal. She said her district manager does not allow the BOGO coupon and the $4 off coupon, that the two body washes are part of the same BOGO coupon and you would have to purchase another one to use the $4. After I asked for a clearer explanation she called someone else over and in a huff she said she would do it this time but not again. The manufacturer is repaying CVS so I don’t understand the problem. I’m going to call CVS and get the facts on their policy.

Andrea Q May 3, 2010 at 4:25 pm

@Wendy, I don’t understand why they would allow the use of both coupons. A BOGO covers two items.

Holly May 3, 2010 at 3:55 pm

I had the same problem last week at CVS with the tasters choice coupon he said the BOGO coupon counted for both items so I didn’t use any…. I went this week and one of my two favorite young male cashiers was there, the younger ones are always so nice and helpful

Wendy May 3, 2010 at 9:31 pm

I called CVS corporate and she said that each store has its own individual policies and that there is no “official” coupon policy! AAAGGGHH!!
I told that Rite Aid has an official policy and so do most other companies and that I don’t want to hassle anyone or do something that is against their policy. She said she wishes there was one official policy too!

Holly May 4, 2010 at 11:34 am

@Wendy,
I think that we, the consumers, should have the right to know the coupon policy of the store that we shop at!! It seems to me that the “policy” is up to the person checking you out!! I make all of my trips to the same store, but the coupons that I can use depends on which cashier checks me out!! If every store has their own policy, shouldn’t I be able to go to my CVS and not be worried if I’m going to be hassled about my coupons!!

Jenn L. May 4, 2010 at 7:24 am

I was told at a store that I couldn’t use 2 manufactures coupons on an item, so even if one was a buy one get one, I couldn’t use a $off coupon on the item I was buying, even if I was paying for that one. I see listed a lot on here in deal situations, like this one, use the buy one get one free and than use the $4 off coupon, do some stores allow this? Or some states? Just need a little clarity here.

Holly May 4, 2010 at 11:21 am

I think they must be changing their policy or questioning it because it seems to me like there is a lack of communication!! Sometimes I have no problem at all with my coupons, but other times it is such a hassle!! I agree that we, the consumers, need to know their policy so that we can plan our trips to the store!! We don’t want to “get one over” on CVS, we just want the best deal they have to offer!!

jen chase May 6, 2010 at 6:55 pm

Publix has Nivea body wash 16.9 oz on sale for $3.89. Combine it with the $4 Nivea manufacture coupons in last week’s Sunday paper- and it’s free. I bought 5 bottles with 5 coupons and they were all free.

bobbi May 6, 2010 at 8:45 pm

Today, I tried using the $1/1 dawn and CVS wouldn’t allow it. The manager came over and said that since the product is only $.97, they wouldn’t accept it. She told me that they couldn’t “adjust it down.” Bummer… I am going to try to get a copy of their policy. I see that some others are having the same issues. I wonder if they are tightening their rules.
