Super Savings Saturday

by Crystal on January 29, 2010

I didn’t step foot into a grocery store of any kind this week. So I guess that qualifies as my savings for the week!

After four weeks of not even paying attention to sales or touching coupons, I’m anxious to jump back into bargain-shopping again, though. And I’m especially curious to see if I can pull off re-stocking our pantry, freezer, and refrigerator on $40 per week. Stay tuned for my weekly reports on how that happens!

Did you snag any great deals or bargains this week or save money in other ways? If so, be sure to post about them on your blog and leave your link below. Please remember that this weekly round-up is to share deals you personally got and/or money you were able to save this week. In order to keep this weekly round-up focused on helping and inspiring others in their efforts to save money, links which have little-to-no content other than promoting affiliate links, etc. will be deleted. Crystal you amaze me! I need to try to have a grocery fast once in a while. I’m looking forward to Feb’s Freezer Challenge though. Hopefully that will limit my shopping trips to just couple this month.

You have to get through a couple paragraphs of me whining about being sick and falling off the exercise wagon…then you get to the shopping trip :)

I saw your name mentioned in the new Kiwi magazine today – very cool!

I’m interested to see how you do restocking. My whole question with cooking out of the pantry for a month is that you’re not doing the sales at the stores and how much it will be in the end to restock everything rather than buy and stockpile. However, I do see it relieving some burn-out!

Stacey January 30, 2010 at 3:53 pm

I know you can restock your pantry and still stay within budget! I’ll be watching to see how you do it, but I know you can! :) I’m a WOHM, so daycare expenses increase during the summer – I use those weeks to eat from the pantry & freezer. It never fails, after school starts back up – cha ching!!! Back to shopping and stock piling for me! I’m still learning – so if I can do it – you can too!!!

I love hearing about everyone’s good deals and learning from what everyone does. Here’s my contribution. I’m new at this, but think it’s going pretty well!

I’m glad the Kroger mega-sale is still going on this week so you can take advantage if you need to!! I found, inside the Cub Foods ad that came with the paper, there are manufacturer’s coupons printed if you need more cheese coupons. Also, if anyone still has the $4/2 La Victoria salsa printables available a while back, they are part of the mega-sale at Kroger and they come out free with the coupon!! Got four jars free!!!!
