Starting September 16th, Walmart will be hosting their annual Car Seat Trade In event!
Simply bring in a used car seat and you will receive a free $30 Walmart gift card to be used on a new car seat or other baby items.
I recommend calling your location ahead of time to see if they’re participating.
Valid at participating locations from September 16-30, 2019.
{Psst! Don’t forget the Target Car Seat Trade In Event is still running through the 13th, too!}

I just tried and was told that nation-wide Wal-Mart isn’t accepting them anymore. They have received too many, so they shut down the program. I called last week to make sure my Wal-Mart was participating and they said, “yes”. Then when I got there today, they refused them.
Is this an annual program? I’d hate to store these until next year, but…

Walmart shut down the event over a week early due to an overwhelming response! I was really bummed to hear this. This is the first year that Walmart has offered this event so I don’t know if they will do it again next year. I’m so sorry you missed it. – Gretchen, MSM Team

My local Walmart excepted front facing car seats and booster seats no questions asked and gave regular Walmart/Sams gift card face value $30, you have to provide your drivers license only, that is all, I asked does it have an expiration date, she didn’t know, I am can call I am sure, I just haven’t yet. Walk in go right to customer service (call ahead if you want), you will see a pile of them anyway, I gave one front facing, but I saw a boaster with a back to it and about 50 other ones.

Does anyone know if there is a limit per person or household? We have two car seats but want to upgrade to a booster seat for our little one. Wondering if I can get two $30 gift cards for turning in two car seats?
Ariel says

I just have to share my story today. I saw this post earlier today and I thought, that’d be great for someone to have a $30 gift card. So, I went shopping at Aldi and on my way back home, I saw a sign for a garage sale a street over from my home. It was already 3;45pm but I thought I’d check it out. I got there and it was over but they were throwing out a baby car seat! I am going to bless someone with a $30 gift card from Walmart, a woman at work has a daughter that’s due to have a boy in early October!
