I got my wisdom teeth pulled out this morning (I opted for a local and it didn't hurt, but I have to say that drilling, yanking, and tooth cracking were less than pleasant!) so I did my shopping yesterday so that I could take it easy the next few days.
I was really excited about my Target trip as I stocked up on pasta and baby wipes and spent very little after coupons. Here's how it broke down:
4 bags of Kraft marshmallows–$1.04 each, used $1/2 coupons here–$0.54 each after coupons
10 packages of Up & Up toddler/baby wipes–$1.44 each, used $1/1 coupons here–$0.44 each after coupons
5 $0.99 Bakery items–used $1/1 coupons here–free after coupons
1 3-lb. bag of apples–$3.99, used $1/1 coupon here–$0.99 per pound after coupon
2 boxes of Kashi waffles–$1.99 each, use $3/2 peelie–$0.49 each after coupon
4 bottles Ocean Spray cranberry juice–$1.98 each, used $1/1 coupons here–$0.98 each after coupons
Also shown are the milk we bought 3 packages of pears we got at Aldi for $0.89 per package.
The total for all the groceries shown above was right around $20. Usually 8 boxes of whole wheat pasta would cost just about that much. Gotta love coupons and sales!

Hi — sorry to hear about the wisdom teeth. For me the only really bad part of being a mom is those days when you just need to be able to be unwell for a day and you can’t. I hope you’re getting some rest and well-deserved pampering.
My other comment is that I’m surprised to see you bought (what look like) the 40 wipe packages. At my target, they had 40 for 1.49 or 77 (in a box) for 1.59 or 88 for 2.89, so even though I didn’t really want all the plastic boxes the 77 count were the best value (cost per wipe) when using the $1 off coupons. (Which I was finally able to print; and which my target accepted in quantity without the blink of an eye).

My Target in Dublin, CA also did not allow more than 1 Up and Up wipes coupon per transaction. Bummer.

Just wondering if it’s only Ronzoni’s whole wheat pasta that’s on sale at Target. My family doesn’t like whole wheat pasta. I’d like to buy the Smart Taste by Ronzoni if that’s on sale too. Thanks.

Another great way to save on ink is to print the Target coupons at Target. They print on blue paper – and the cashiers rarely have issues scanning these coupons, as they have really bold ink and they scan well. Its the same kiosk that you print baby or wedding registries. It has an option to go to target.com – click on coupons and it will let you print! Then I usually ask Customer service for some scissors to cut them out before I shop!

How many baby wipes are in the little packets?
Priscilla says
Every so often lately the Pick-N-Save here in Wisconsin has had the Ronzoni pasta on a Buy 1 get one free sale, 1 box is for 1.69 or 1.79 depending if it is the Smart Taste/zone?) or Healthy Harvest ones by Ronzoni.
Only 1 day a week they double coupons, after spending $25 and only the 1st 5 coupons…so, I end up with a little overage, yeah!

I printed my Up&Up baby wipe coupons and bought 6 of them. That is all I printed out, and there were only 6 left on the shelves!!! Thank goodness I got there when I did! Thanks for your tips, and your photos!!!!!!

I found a new gadget on the web that helps me save money at the supermarket, make fewer trips to the store, and just one trip from my car up to my apartment. It’s called a Baggy Buddy. It’s an inexpensive little plastic handle that consolidates all my reusable shopping bags into one or two loads. Using two of them make it easy for me to carry 6 or 7 large reusable shopping bags full of groceries. It’s easier for me to deal with those larger, cheaper by weight packages of food so I can cut out about a third of my trips to the supermarket. And now I can get all my shopping to my apartment in one trip. I save money on groceries. I save money on gas. I save time, and all while making life a little easier. You should check them out for your readers. They are available at http://www.baggybuddy.com You could have easily handled your whole Target shopping with 2 of these.

Just a quick question before going to Target. Is the juice you bought 100% juice w/ no added sugar? Thanks!

I was finally able to find the up&up wipes in KC and the cashier was very nice about using my 10 coupons my total $5.48, also the Target in Topeka, Ks had coffeemate creamer for $1.50 and some marked down to $1.16. Use the $1/1 coupon from coupons.com to get cheap creamer.

I can’t find the Up & Up Target coupons on the Organic Grocery Deals Target Coupon generator (a great resource!) that you linked to (although I do have the flyer here in my hand). Do I have to sign in? I’d love to be able to print some additional ones and stock up.

You DESERVE a good Target trip. Wisdom tooth extraction with just a local??? Girl, you are brave!

I also found a tearpad for .50/2 Kraft marshmallows which I will be stacking with the Target qs for .25 marshmallows! I found the tearpad at my Stop & Shop.
Lana says
Here’s hoping you recover quickly without any dry sockets! I had my gall bladder out last week and one of our college age kids asked me if it was better or worse than wisdom teeth! Wisdom teeth was way worse! On another note my Target only takes one coupon per transaction but couponing there is such a pain that I rarely do it. As far as the Super Target coupons go it seems to vary from day to day.

My target in Northern Indiana gave me a hard time for buying 10 of the up & up wipes with ten coupons. She told me it was a strict 5 of the same coupons per order. Never heard that before. Then i went to another Target and I had no probems at all. Just wondering why it differs so much.
Courtney says
Our Target is now strictly enforcing the “one coupon per transaction” policy. It stinks! I haven’t been there in over a month because it just isn’t worth it anymore.
Paurian says
I tend to shop mostly organic and health food. It’s much more expensive when you’re picky but there are still some options. For example, Target’s Skippy peanut butter coupon was used on the Skippy “Natural” line that excludes hydrogenated oils in favor of the ultra-healthy palm/coconut variety.
I’d be happy to guest blog how to reduce shopping costs when you’re a health nut if there’s enough interest and incentive.
Kristen says
I’ve had very good luck using multiple coupons at Target- last week I used 8 Skippy Peanut Butter Q’s during the sale and got each for .93…no concerns by the cashier. 🙂

Hi there, I would appreciate someone mentioning whether or not the coupons (which say they are for super target) will work at a regular target store. There are only regular target stores in my area and I would love to do the wipes deal! Thanks in advance for any help!

Money Saving Mom here: Paula, if they have the item at your regular Target, you can usually use the SuperTarget coupon on it–unless your store says you can’t. But I’ve heard many reports of people doing just that.

After I read this post earlier this evening, I printed out my coupons from your links (THANK YOU!) and headed to my Target. I ended up getting 5 cranberry juice, 8 up & up baby wipes, 5 bakery items, 4 marshmallows, 2 pepperidge farm cookies, 2 24-pk ice mountain water. I had $20 in gift cards from prescriptions I filled on Friday, so all of this cost me .13!! My cashier was a bit of a pain about all of the coupons and this was the second time I was told “we will take all of them this time, but next time you can only use one per transaction”. They upgraded to new computer systems at my Targets so it seems to be harder to use coupons than ever there. I rarely shop there anymore because of this. I can do just as well at Kroger or Walmart without all the hassles. But, sometimes the deals are worth trying, that is why I went out tonight. Next time if they won’t take all of the coupons in the same transaction, I will then do 20 seperate orders. See how fun that is for them then. Worst part was the coupons wouldn’t scan, so she kept saying it was because the computer won’t take more than one per transaction. That wasn’t the case, because she ended up keying in each computer number and the computer took every one, their lame scanner just wouldn’t read the coupons. Anyways, all in all, I am very happy with what I was able to get for just .13. Thank you Crystal for such a great post, so many of your posts give me ideas of deals I can do and I run out to mimic you. Thank you, and best of luck with your teeth.

I’m curious to know if you print your coupons at home and if so, where you purchase your ink cartridges (I’m assuming you’ve founded the cheapest place!). 🙂
*********************
Money Saving Mom here: We have a laser printer as I’ve found that to be the cheapest for printing. As far as ink goes, I usually just buy it at Office Depot with a coupon (they send these out to their card members very frequently) and use my card to earn points for cashback. I’d love it if someone else has a better suggestion. I’ve not done a ton of research on this before.
