Just one new recipe this week 🙂

I did a freezer cooking session over the weekend and loved every minute of it. Especially the minute I saw all the food prepared for the week. I used the recipes you posted from Kojo Designs earlier this month. We have tried two of them so far and they are fantastic! They have great flavor and my family wanted seconds!
I found the recipes cost effective also. The recipes called for a lot of the ingredients I already had on hand, therefore I didn’t need to buy too many groceries this week. 🙂
I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the recipes. I’m also really glad you shared their link – very helpful!
Here is our menu for this week.

I’ll be doing some freezer cooking as well this week, I’ve got 14 lbs. of pears, a bunch of peaches and tomatoes to use up. Friday I’ll also be roasting a turkey we’ve had in our freezer and making some meals out of that.

We’re straddling the seasons this week – still grilling chicken and vegetable skewers, but also using the oven for Mediterranean Fish Bake. Slow Cooker Spiced Whole Chicken, though, is something I make no matter the season!

Thanks for sharing. Love getting inspiration from others. This week I focused on the budget and getting meals in the freezer. Just seems with school kids are more hungry. I say to them, “there is plenty of fruit and veggie sticks to snack on.” Heres ours: http://www.elenisavesu.com/2012/09/125-menu-planning-for-four.html?m=1

This week I will be doing some crock pot cooking. Along with breakfast for dinner one night. I am also hoping to make up some pantry packages this week too. I only was able to get my cream soup mix done last week.

Looks yummy! You have great freezer planning list. I need to get more than one thing in the freezer at a time – it might just help me get ahead a little. Company coming this weekend so maybe the next.
Here’s our menu plan this week. It’s a little heavy on the pasta, but life goes on. 🙂

I did a master September Menu Plan and prepped 18 dinners (most of them crock pot) for this month of back to school so our menu plans have been super easy. Walk to dry erase board pick a number off the list and add them accordingly to which days require easy and which ones allow for more time. Man that saves my life these days.
Here’s ours this week.

I have been wanting to do freezer crock pot meals, just haven’t been able to wrap my head around it. Did you share how you did yours?
Trish @ Finances With Funk says
Stephanie. Not all 18 were crock pot and I did duplicates of each. So 9 different meals. One was a throw in the oven in a casserole dish and 2 were amazing marinated chicken dishes that can now just marinate as they thaw. Really I just kept scouring cook books to find recipes that sounded good and had a lot of overlapping ingredients. So I prepped a bunch of carrots. A bunch of garlic, peppers, onions, zuchinni, and turned it essentially into a big assembly line. Write title and instructions on bag, go down the line filling bag, mix up sauce, pour over top, throw in freezer.
I think most of the recipes I used are under my recipe tab. All in all I think it took me about 5 hours. Hope that helps. Email me if you have any questions.
