So, I was all excited to get the bodywash deal as it seems like there hasn’t been a good bodywash deal around these parts recently. Our store was out, though. Oh well, we’re really enjoying our homemade soap, so that’ll do for awhile longer!
I did do the Life Savers Jellybeans deal, though. Here’s how it worked out:
Bought 6 Life Savers Jellybeans — on sale 2/$1
Used one $1/2 Starburst, Skittles, Life Savers or Hubba Bubba Easter item in the Walgreens coupon booklet (located at the front of the store next to the weekly sales fliers) — one coupon took $3
After the coupon, I just paid $0.22 in tax
I left one bag at home as a very special treat for our children (they rarely have candy since we try to avoid food coloring, but I figured they could have a special treat while we’re gone!) and stuck the jellybeans in our suitcase for our trip to the Dominican Republic today as they suggested we bring candy for the elementary-aged children we’ll be meeting.

That is very nice of you!!! I read other blogs where people were getting 10 at a time or more. What you did is great!
We put a limit on how many per person we will sell, otherwise we would have customers buying them by the boxful because in WA state there is no tax on food, so they are totally free.
They wouldn’t honor the jelly beans deal at my Walgreens.
Bummer. 🙁 You should come to my Walgreens–but I doubt it’s worth the drive just for jelly beans! 🙂
yep, mine wouldn’t either. They said they got a notice this morning from corporate not to adjust the price down and that the coupon was an error, that has since been fixed in the system.
I find it funny that they are saying the coupon is an error, I remember using the same coupon last year to get the jellybeans for my kids Easter baskets, they did give me a hard time last year though.
Last year at my Walgreen’s, they also said the coupon was only for the large bags. 🙁
Just a thought, as I’ve been to Mexico, and Nicaraugua. You will probably want to take individually wrapped candy too.
Yes, we brought a *bunch* of that, too!
Can you tell me what size they were?
I’m not sure–but they were by the Easter candy and were priced at 2 for $1.
My store would not accept the coupon for the mini packs. She keyed it in manually which makes me wonder…..
This is for the small bags. I’ve been reading that the coupon no longer works, it was a glitch. It was working yesterday for some.
I got 4 packs but tried again today and it would not work. I am happy I got enough for my 4 kiddos.
My walgreens refused to let me do this deal. They said it was meant for the big bags. I tryed to explain that it said ANY. Worst part I had my kids with me, so I had to buy them without the coupon.
Same thing here. Oh well.
Food coloring? I’m confused?
There are some medical problems that are caused by food coloring, especially stuff that’s used in candy and sodas. It can cause some severe hyperactivity, among other things, and if kids have ADD or ADHD it can make it much, much worse. Your diet can affect your life more than you realize!
Random comment- I am happy to see that you have found body wash deals scarce lately as well! I thought I was being a bad deal finder!! Haha!
I’ve also found body wash deals scarce lately! Not just that but shampoo and conditioner and other HBA. Two or three years ago I could walk out of a drugstore with bags full of free or almost free HBA. Now? Not so much!
I got 8 bags but my store was well stocked. I’m lucky enough to live in tx and they figure tax after coupons so all 6 bags for free!
If something isn’t good enough for your own children, why would you give it to other kids?
Great question! Compassion suggested we bring some candy to hand out to the children because, from what I understand, this is a very special treat for them, too–just like it is for our children! We’ll be visiting a LOT of children and probably just handing out a few pieces of candy to each of them (we’re bringing a lot more candy than just the jelly beans, in addition to lots of other goodies for the children–and other things for the moms, toddlers, and babies).
While my children don’t need six bags of candy, a few pieces as a special treat every once in a blue moon is totally okay with me, so that’s why I left a bag at home for them and we’re bringing the rest. It also provided a good opportunity for us to talk about giving to others and not keeping things we love all to ourselves. 🙂
Thanks so much for asking so I could clarify; my apologies on the confusion!
{And no guilt if any of you moms feed your children candy every day, okay?! Our children just get really hyperactive if they have more than a little food coloring every once in a while, so that’s we really limit food coloring around here. However, that’s just what our family has chosen, please guiltlessly do whatever works for your family!}
My daughter gets hyperactive when she eats dye, especially Red 40. However, I think kids are supposed to be hyperactive every once in awhile. That’s why she gets some candy, every once in awhile!
They had a sign up at our Walgreens saying that the IVC coupon wasn’t valid on those small packs. Oh well!
