Thanks so much for sharing this! I’ve been thinking about making the switch to being a self-hosted blog but couldn’t justify the expense. I’m thinking that I’ll make this my blog account and then use the extra funds for the switch!
Wow! Thank you so much for informing us of this offer! I signed my hubby & I each up for both accounts! $400 bucks–that’s quite a deal! I’ve been wanting to open some separate savings accounts anyway to do some sinking funds, so this was the perfect opportunity! Thanks for all you do!!
Is this per address, or could a couple open 2 individual accounts?
I believe it is per person, so each can open their own account.
I already had a capital one savings account, but was able to sign both my husband and myself up for new checking accounts! Thanks for the tip!
Any idea if they will give any special offers to open a child’s account soon like they used to?
Just an FYI for readers interested in the checking account: because of the overdraft line of credit they offer with 360 checking, Capital One does a credit check before allowing you to create an account. My husband and I just got married and are trying not to rely on loans or credit cards so we didn’t have enough reportable data to allow us to qualify.
When you click on “Back to the Sale” at the top of the 360 checking page, it’ll take you to all of the options, including savings. 🙂
The link took me to the checking account page also. I found the savings account page online. Will sign up for both today. Capital One is on the Bankrate 25 high interest savings banks list. Thanks for the info. Hope this helps. Capital One 360® Sale www.capitalone360.com/
Open a no-fee 360 Savings® account. Get a $75 bonus. 4 days only.
The link for Step #1 (opening a savings account) leads me to a page about opening a checking account. Is the link correct?
why does the savings need to be opened first?
It is the way Capital One 360 has it set up. If you open the checking account for the bonus and then try to do a savings account for the second bonus it stops the process and tells you to call for help from a customer rep. They don’t yet have a “fix” for the problem but hope to before the deal concludes on Monday. I set up the checking account including the bonus but can’t do the savings account including bonus because I didn’t know about the “correct” order so I may lose out on the savings bonus of $75.
