A little note I stuck on my Time Blocked To Do List today. Because I need the reminder.
In the midst of the mundane and the messy, we can so easily forget the truth: God is good. All the time.
And that’s a reason for choosing joy. For wringing the happy out of ordinary days. For smiling.
We don’t always have a choice when it comes to our life circumstances and situations, but we always have a choice when it comes to our response and our attitude.
Choose joy. Choose happy. Choose to smile. God’s goodness is all around us — if we’ll take the time to stop and notice.

I love reading everything you write and am so grateful for your faith and all that you share. Twenty three years ago i lost my husband to Leukemia at the age of 36 and was left to raise my children, a boy 5 and a girl 4, then 10 years ago i lost my father. In 2013 i lost my only son at the age of 24 to a failed bone marrow transplant and again in August of 2017 my only daughter at age 26 who was on the way to my home to drop off my grandchildren before going to the hospital to be induced to have my fourth grandchild, when my daughter wrecked, due to anothers road rage, and the car flipped 8-10 times. My daughter was killed and my unborn granddaughter. My point to all of this is Our God is great and without my faith and all i have been thru i could not do it without him. I am now raising my grandchildren ages 11, 4 and 3 and God is with us every day.

Thank you for posting this. It reinforced what I was thinking about earlier this morning in my quiet time. I was having a little pity party and was reminded that no matter what my circumstances, God is good! And so on the way to work I sang some praise songs and told God what things I was thankful for in the midst of these difficult circumstances. My attitude changed immediately. 🙂

Thank you! I’m struggling with some health issues in my pregnancy at 30 weeks and we found out on Thursday that my husband’s mom’s cancer has not responded to chemo and she has about 6-8 weeks to live. She’s placing her battle in God’s hands and I know even in the grief and my own physical discomfort that I have the chance to choose joy. I read somewhere that grief/pain and joy live in the same chamber of our hearts.

{Hugs!} I’m so, so sorry about your mother-in-law and your health issues.

Each Day I remind myself, “This is a new Day that God has given me” and I know that He is with me, no matter what happens. I also try and remember each day to say thank you for the little blessings that come my way, and share a smile with someone who may need it. Last week was an example, my son was sick the same day my mom was scheduled to have surgery-my husband stepped in and took care of our son, while I was able to be with my mom. Your reminder is great to see today ! Have a great week!
