I went to CVS last week and did the Huggies deal, I bought “$30” worth of products, the diapers were 9.99 per package so it technically came out to $29.97 when I bought 3. I was told CVS would round up in this scenario so I would get $10 back (the deal running at the time) but instead I got the lesser value- $5. (The other deal was spend $15, get $5.) Was I wrong in thinking my total would get rounded up?

In my experiences, I have never had them round up and have purchased one lower priced item that I had a coupon for, like wipes, to push me over the $30

When it’s a tiered deal like that, you have to spend the full $30. If it’s just a regular spend $XX get $x ECB, then the 99% rule applies.
Tami says
This is the way I understand their coupon policy…..On a deal like Spend $30/Get $10 ECB or Spend $15/Get $5, you have to spend that exact amount or over to get to the second tier of the deal. So yes, you have to spend exactly $30 or more to get the $10. If the deal is not a tiered deal like the one above, then I believe if you are within 98% of the price they give it to you. For example, the Suave deal this week….spend $12/Get $4 ECBs. If for some reason the price comes out to say $11.98, they will give you the $4 ECB.
I am not 100% certain I am understanding this right, but this is the way it has worked for me in the past.
