I’m so excited about how many of you are joining us for the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home Challenge! If you missed today’s assignment, you can find it here.
I was so excited to open up our silverware drawer and discover that it wasn’t at all as messy as I’d expected it to be. I have been trying to stay on top of it more and had recently cleaned the crumbs out of it, so it’s encouraging to realize that those little habits of keeping on top of dirt and clutter are making a difference!
It didn’t take long and it looked great!
And I cleaned out the cupboard above the stove and discovered a pile of stuff to get rid of. I was really surprised that all of that stuff was up there!
How you do on Assignment #11? I’d love to have you share your progress and success with us so we can be inspired. Either post a link to your blog post below or leave a comment with your update.

I feel like I am so behind. I was sick all last week and still don’t have all my energy back. Tomorrow is another day. I will get up out of bed put something nice on and go from there.
I love these assignments. The first week I got so much done. I felt so accomplished. What I missed last week will have to sit on the back burner for a couple weeks but I will get them done.

Just do what you can do and don’t worry about what you don’t get to. I’m so sorry you’ve been sick! 🙁

Where did you get your organizational tray that holds the silverware? I think it looks taller than mine. My silverware are always spilling out of their designated spot. One solution would be to pare down the number of silverware, but we frequently run out–or use them all, so I don’t think that would be a good solution at this point. I think a taller tray would be a better idea…

Well, the benefit of having a really small kitchen drawer is that I didn’t have much to clean. (My drawer is about half your size.) I worked ahead today and did the utensil drawer as well since I only have 2 drawers in my kitchen. I found some utensils to get rid of. I also emptied out the utensils I only use once in a while to store somewhere else since the drawers are so small (and were over-crowded). Besides utensils, I also got rid of some kids’ clothing that had been given to us as hand-me-downs. If I know I’m never going to want to wear it on my kids, I try hard not to store it for a year or two before getting rid of it. (That was my old way of dealing with hand-me-downs. 🙂 )

🙂 Way to go on your progress!

Super busy day plus I had allergies so I didn’t get to the kitchen drawer. I got rid of 8 things though and made some goals for the week. =)

Great job!

Thanks for the extra motivation to organize. Today was very busy with tons of laundry and the cleaning the follows the weekend but I did find some things to get rid of and accomplished the tasks.

I got it done! It gave me the perfect excuse to get rid of a few straggling items that snuck into that drawer, and streamline one of the most frequently used drawers in my house.

Yay!

My silverware drawer really needed to be organized. It’s so nice to have everything in it’s own spot.

I got everything done – today was a busy day so I didn’t have extra time to go through things but still found five things to get rid of.

Good for you!

This was a great task, as I hadn’t looked at the silverware drawer in a long time, and it had plenty to get rid of. It looks so much better simplified and tidied up. It’s amazing how looking at something tidy must makes my mind feel so much calmer. Thanks for the challenge!
