Gretchen’s $20 Grocery Shopping Trip and Weekly Menu Plan

Aldi

Since it’s the last week of the month and we’ve had lots of company over this month, I only had a little over $20 left in our grocery budget for this week. So I looked through our freezer and pantry and planned the menu off of what I had stock piled/leftovers in my refrigerator. I only purchased the necessities this week at the store and skipped all the great coupon deals. 

1 Unsweetened Applesauce – $1.89

2 Cucumbers – $0.49 each, used $0.25 Checkout 51 rebate – $0.36 each after rebate

1 bag Green Peppers – $0.99

1 pkg Chicken Tenderloins – $4.36, used $1 off peelie coupon – $3.36 after coupon

1 loaf Bread – $0.99

1 bag Red Grapes – $1.98

1 pint Grape Tomatoes – $0.99

1 pkg Cheddar Cheese – $1.89

Total after coupon and rebate: $12.82

Sprouts

1 lb Strawberries – $1.50

1 Pineapple – $0.98

1 Organic Celery – $0.98

2.76 lbs Pink Lady Apples @ $0.98/lb – $2.70, used $0.15 Ibotta rebate – $2.55 after rebate

0.71 lb Roma Tomaotes – $0.36

Total: $6.37

Dillons

1 Chobani Yogurt – Marked down to $0.49

2 Siggis Yogurt – Marked down to $0.79 each

1 gallon Dillons Milk – $1.99

1 pkg Oreos – $2.99, used Free Mobisave rebate AND $0.15 Ibotta rebate – Free plus overage after rebate

Total after rebates: $3.91

    I’ve never seen food prices so cheap. Cheese is at least $4 where we live. Strawberries that cheap? Never.

      Normally, I would have totally thought the same thing except our local grocery had pints of strawberries on sale this last week for that price. It does happen.
