Brigette – Curious what you plan to do with all the lemons?

    • Kelly says:

I was wondering the same thing. 🙂

    • Brigette says:

I like to drink half a lemon squeezed in hot water every morning when I get up. I also use lemon juice/oil over my daily salad, and I use them for Singing Canary, a Thm recipe. This week we are also making homemade lemonade for a school project ( studying about early America and the sailor/explorers on ship dying of scurvy/lack of vitamin C and how lemons helped them not develop the disease).

I wish we had Aldis in Maine. I can’t even come close to those prices.

    • Brigette says:

Sorry!! Aldi is pretty widespread, though, so maybe they will open up some stores in Maine soon??? 🙂

  3. Amie says:

Great job as always. I am finally getting back to menu planning and actually came in under budget this month! I was shocked. Lol. Spaghizza is on the menu tonight. Have you tried the black bean brownies before? I’d love to know if it’s a recipe you’d recommend. I am a black bean lover. I mash black beans and add them into our ground turkey meatballs or meat loaves because my son requires a high fiber diet. I just made a pan of regular brownies and I’d love to switch those out for something healthier. Thanks. 🙂

    • Brigette says:

I LOVED this recipe and made it several times during my pregnancy, and my kids ate them and loved them as well. I forgot about the recipe and haven’t made it in over a year – so we will see if it still tastes as great to my nonpregnant taste buds. 🙂 I add beans to meat too!!

    • Brigette says:

Great job with menu planning and staying under budget!! That’s an awesome feeling!

I love finding new teas to try! Looks like you have some great ones in your stash. I’ve not heard of the Choice brand before. My favorite right now is the Yogi Egyptian Licorice (but can’t have if nursing or pregnant). Actually, combine and egyptian licorice and and mint licorice is about perfection.

    • Brigette Shevy says:

I am curious to try the Egyptian Licorice now – thanks for the recommendation! Just need to wait another month or two until my baby is completely weaned. 🙂

  5. Kendra says:

Both links to the pull apart oat rolls actually go to the quiche recipe. Will try the black bean brownies soon (but, shhh don’t tell the kids!) =)

    • Brigette Shevy says:

I am sorry about the incorrect link. I don’t know how to change it at this point, but the Pull Apart Oat Rolls are on Crystal’s site, so you can find them if you search for them. Hope you like the black bean brownies! 🙂
