Three of the most popular posts on my blog are the 10 Chore Ideas for Toddlers, 15 Chore Ideas for 4-Year-Olds, and 20 Chore Ideas for 7-Year-Olds.
So I asked Jeff from FiveJs.com to put together a free Chore Ideas for Kids printable for those who might want to print the ideas out for inspiration. You can download and print it here.

So, i have a question. Is awesome having a chore chart and all ut what do you do when she they just dont do it. My girl will be 7 in March and i right now she has 3 chores, feeding the dogs, empty or load the dishwasher, tidy up bathroom sink. It is a daily struggle between us to do even these simple tasks.
Any advice would be great. Thanks.

I would love a list of chore ideas for older kids. I only have one child, who is 10, and I was an only child myself. So I have no idea if I’m having him do too much or too little. My sense is I’m not having him take enough responsibility so I would relish hearing what other parents are having their 10-year-olds do.

My oldest is only 7, so I’m sure a 10 year old could do more than this, but here’s what we do. My 7 year old is in charge of cleaning his room and making his bed before breakfast, setting up for and cleaning up after meals, putting his own laundry away, cleaning up after himself after playing with toys, and doing one extra household chore on Saturdays/no school days.
In addition, if he acts up, fights with his brothers, does his work sloppily, lollygags, etc., I can give him extra work around the house at any time. He is learning fast that if he can’t find something good to do with his time and energy, I will redirect his time and energy for him. It’s working way better than grounding or time outs! He has learned how to clean the bathroom, fold laundry, sweep the floors and mop or vacuum them, dust furniture, clean out the car, empty/load the dishwasher, make meatballs, noodles, etc. and keep up with the garbage around the house. He does 7-year-old quality work, but it’s getting better each time.

I found a book that has a better break down. I commented about it. 101 ways to get your kids to work at home, is the name of the book.

My 2yr old daughter loves to put the washed clothes in the dryer. I pull them from the washer and place them in a basket and she puts them in the dryer. I takes more time, but it’s well worth it.
