Print a high-value $1.50/2 Mars Seasonal Candy coupon.
You can use it at Walgreens to get the following deal:
Buy two Mars Candy Singles at $0.50 each
Use $1.50/2 Mars Seasonal Items
Use in-ad coupon to bring the price down to $0.39 each
Free plus $0.81 in overage (you’ll need to purchase something else to absorb this overage or your order won’t go through)
Thanks, Common Sense With Money!

Try CVS. I found Easter candy out already. It worked without a problem. Price was labeled 2 for $1.50, but rang up $.50 each. So I bought three for free with one coupon.
I had the same problem at Walgreens. They told me the coupon could only be used at Walmart. I explained that it was a manufacturer’s coupon. I said maybe they could adjust it down since there was an overage. They refused to take it. I didn’t feel like arguing any further so no luck!
Crystal,
I had trouble with these coupons today. The manger came over and said they don’t put overage toward other items in my shopping cart. I thought the coupon policy said otherwisebut I did’t push it. But just now when I got home and read through the walgreens policy I got the impression she was right. Here’s the section copy/pasted: “In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons. ” Am I missing something?
I price-matched these at Walmart today with no problems (they had 1 oz. fun size M&Ms valentine boxes) and used the overage toward my other groceries. I was really pleased it worked at Walmart where I was already making other purchases so I didn’t have to go to Walgreens and try to find something else to buy to use the overage. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for the reminder about pricematching at walmart! I had aheadache at walgreens because the coupons beed even though I was purachsing enough items and would still be paying out of pocket but even the manager said they don’t do overage. oh bother. That was a very interestig walgreens visit though because I saw someone arrested for shop lifting. First time I ever saw that!
I found some little Snickers cream hearts (Mars brand) that seemed like they should have worked. I paired the 2 of those with an Aquafresh kids toothpaste that is on sale for $1 after in add coupon. The candy coupon beeped and they called up a manager to see why it wasn’t working. Her only explaination was that the coupon was for more than the candy. I wasn’t in the mood to argue, so I just said, “Okay, nevermind. I’ll probably just use it at Wal-Mart,” and then left. No big loss, but what am I missing- was it my mistake or theirs?
I had the same thing happen for me. The manager came over andsaid they don’t give overage at walgreens so wierd!
Any idea which candy will work for the deal? I went throught the aisle and I couldn’t find any Mars that were the right size.
I love get these types of coupons, there great for the kids/grandkids goodie bags at holidays. The only problems is that it has the Walmart logo and says available at Walmart. I’ve had Kroger and Walgreens both refuse to take any coupons that have Walmart anywhere on it…and the nearest Walmart to me is 20 miles away.
Hey – I try not to jump on every free candy offer at the drugstores because I have a serious self-control problem when it comes to my sweet tooth…BUT…Walgreens (at least the ones near my house) has a donation box right at the register to donate candy to deployed troops. So if you don’t plan on using the coupon but will be at Walgreens for something else, consider using it to cheer up some men & women who are far from home on our behalf.
oops! First link was a no-go…second link works just fine. 😉
no longer available 🙁 Thank you, though!
