{So thankful for my friend and manager, Joy, who went over my manuscript with a red pen this go-around, too! We’re so close to being ready to send this book to the printer!}
Good Morning! Just for fun, I’m participating in the 7 Quick Takes link-up that I’ve loved reading on other peoples’ blogs so many times in the past. Enjoy!
This morning I am:
1. Hurting for all those in Charleston and the grief they must be experiencing. There are no words.
2. Celebrating that I turned in my final book edits (yes, writing a book feels like an almost never-ending process, so it feels SO good to be at this point!)
3. Thankful that I got an unexpected really amazing night’s sleep — as in, I accidentally fell asleep at 8 p.m. last night. I guess my body needed it??
4. Looking forward to getting to go out to breakfast with my husband since it’s our kids’ last day at camp.
5. Putting some extra password protections in place after listening to this podcast. (Note: there are a few expletives in the show, but it’s well worth the listen if you do anything online at all!)
6. Hoping there are still some Maxi Skirts at Target today when I finally have a chance to stop by for this amazing deal where you can get two Maxi Skirts for just $14.98 total!
7. Excited about the Say Goodbye to Survival Mode event in the Atlanta area tomorrow night. Will you be there? {Details are here… we still have a few seats available and would love to see you there!}
What’s on your mind today? What are YOU celebrating, looking forward to, or thinking about? Tell us in the comments. And feel free to share 7 quick takes — or whatever number you’d like to share. 🙂

Crystal I couldn’t find the skirts at Target but was told to do it online. The cartwheel doesn’t work online but the manager told me to bring in the cartwheel and the receipts and they’d take the cartwheel off. And the skirts can be shipped to store so no shipping fee.
Crystal Paine says
Let me know if it works for you! I hope it does!

I’m excited that after 24 hours, my two boys seem to be healthy again. Hurrah! I wrote about it here: http://everydaymindfulliving.com/when-two-boys-come-down-with-a-virus-ways-to-support-the-immune-system/

I read through the first three chapters of your book today. It was probably a bad idea- I’m hooked! And now I have to wait until November to read the rest. 🙂
Crystal Paine says
Aw, you’re so sweet! Thank you for your kind encouragement!

I just participated at the link up too. Thanks for inspiring me to do so. School just ended for my kids and this Food Allergy mom has 7 Things I’m truly grateful for.
Hope you’ll get a chance to read it too.

Celebrating some exciting things… including successes at work, hubby earning some extra money this summer and getting some great professional development, and the opportunity to celebrate our anniversary with a fun trip.

I just got home from Target. A heads up for anyone wanting in on the maxi skirt deal…the sale and Cartwheel are only good for Mossimo Supply Co., which is in the Juniors section, not the Mossimo brand in the ladies section. There were only 3 prints (kind of crazy prints!) available at our Target, and none of them were my colors. I doubt I’d feel comfortable in any of those patterns. I’m so bummed.

My 7:
1. The weekend is here
2. Loving my new microwave after living without one for too long
3. The sun that is finally out after more than a week of rain
4. Kids who are for the most part really great kids
5. My husband has only 10 more months of nursing school
6. My baby who turned ONE today (feeling weepy about that)
7. Feeling somewhat ready to start working on an ebook

So excited about those maxi skirts at Target! I have bought a whole bunch recently. I have a foot and ankle cast and those skirts have made my life so much easier.

My 7:
1. SUPER excited and nervous about a big project I’m embarking on.
2. So proud of my daughter with her ballet recital 🙂
3. I love spring and summer time…but not the allergies that go with it!
4. Sad over the news. Both in my town and through the country and the whole world. Honestly thinking about just not watching/reading any of it for a long time.
5. Tea, scones, bubble bath and a good book makes the any day seem more relaxing 😀
6. Really enjoying the progress I’ve made with the MOYM course. I really think you should do one tailored for children.
7. Extremely thankful I don’t have cable. I’ve witnessed multiple children begging their parents for toys (junk and expensive) that they saw on a commercial.

Oh my goodness, so awesome that you’re participating in Seven Quick Takes this week! (I’m participating too this week; I’m #2 in the link-up list 🙂 ) I didn’t even know that you knew what SQT was – I love it when my blogging worlds collide. 🙂

5. I read 100 Days of Real Food and was challenged.
6. The relaxed pace of a week of summer (before I go back and start teaching summer school).

Also hurting for Charleston. Our governor was crying on the news last night. I am thankful that the citizens of Charleston have pulled together and there has not been violence like in other places of late.
Here on the home front we are hot. We have a dead heat pump upstairs where all of our bedrooms are. A new one will be installed tomorrow. One more night to sleep hot. We are zombies today.
Crystal Paine says
I feel your pain with the heat thing and am hoping you’re able to get it fixed ASAP!

Thanks for linking up Crystal! I’m also trying to squeeze in a few last minute items before my middle son comes home from MDA camp tomorrow. I’ll be glad to have him back, but it was nice change of pace while it lasted. And now it looks like I have to add a trip to Target! I’m always on the prowl for a good maxi skirt deal!
Crystal Paine says
Thanks for hosting the link-up! I can’t believe I waited so long to participate!

What’s on my mind? Trying to trust the Lord. Wednesday, our company announced the division that my husband and I work in will be shutting down. We will both lose our jobs within the next few weeks. We’re scrambling to find something…anything. But the odds of hubby finding a night job paying as much as he’s making now are slim. This means he’ll have to find a day shift, which means we will have no one to watch our children. We can’t afford day care, we have no nearby friends, and my father doesn’t have a reliable vehicle. We’re praying God provides jobs for the both of us, or at least a job for hubby that pays well enough for me to stay home part-time or full time.
Pray. That’s all we can do.
Crystal Paine says
I’m so, so sorry! I just prayed for peace and provision for you. {Hugs!}
Ashley P says
Thank you so much!
Lisa says
Oh, my goodness, Ashley! That’s so hard. Sending prayers and hugs!!
Ashley P says
Thanks! <3

Praying for your family. We have been through unemployment many times in 37 years and God ALWAYS provides! Think of this as a time to see the awesome hand of our Father taking care of you and your family in ways that you cannot even believe is possible. Every time we have thought that we knew the answers and then God works it all out differently and we have just been blown away. Every time we have had all that we needed and then more. He will take care of you the same way. Hugs!
Ronni @ The Screenwriter's Wife says
Oh Ashley, I’m so sorry. We’ve been in really hard places like this too before. I hope that you’ll figure out something soon, though I know the current stress is a lot to handle. 🙁
