Weekend Giveaway: Young Living Everyday Essentials Kit (2 Winners)

Young-Living-Every-Day-Oils-750x406

I’m really excited about today’s giveaway — not only because I love the person who is sponsoring it (my friend, Carolynn), but also because we LOVE essential oils at our house.

Now, let me be really honest and upfront and tell you this: I don’t sell essential oils and I use many different brands. I’m not sold on any one brand being the best, but I AM sold on essential oils really working and the rest of my family is, too.

We started using essential oils in the past two years after many, many friends raved about them. I buy mine off of Amazon because I have too many friends who sell them and that just makes things simpler (wait, is that the people-pleaser in me rearing its ugly head??)

At any rate, since this giveaway is about Young Living essential oils, I’m going to tell you about two of my favorite Young Living oils — both that are included in the Young Living Everyday Essentials Kit.

Young-Living-Thieves-essential-oil-720x340

Thieves Essential Oil is probably my very favorite of all the Young Living Essential Oils. I Love to diffuse it when we’re sick (or even when we’re well!) and I also love to rub it on the bottom of our feet at night and then put on socks to help us stay well.

It not only smells really, really good, it truly seems to work to ward off a lot of sickness. I’ve actually started traveling with it all the time because I feel like it helps me stay healthier on the road.

Essential Oils

Peace & Calming essential oil is my second favorite Young Living essential oil. I love to diffuse this oil (see above) — especially on a busy day or days when life feels chaotic.

I also have recently started rubbing this on the bottoms of my feet and on my shoulders at night and I’m finding that it’s really helping me to sleep a LOT better — especially when I’m traveling. I also have started using it on my kids’ feet at night, too, and it seems to make a difference in how they sleep, as well.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to use essential oils:

  • Diffuse them — it’s so fun and mood-boosting to have them wafting through the house!
  • Rub them on our feet and then put socks on before we got to bed. I seem to sleep better every time I do this.
  • Put a few drops in our Homemade Foaming Hand Soap. Peppermint is especially fun around Christmas time!
  • Put a few drops into a warm bath for a relaxing at-home spa experience.

There are so many, many other ways to use them! For some more suggestions and ideas, check out Carolynn’s blog. She has a post on how to make Essential Oil Creams and on how essential oils have benefited their family.oils5

If you love essential oils, Young Living also offers the option to sign up to distribute essential oils and earn money doing so. I know many of my friends who do this and are not only able to earn free essential oils but also earn money — all by telling others about a product that they love and believe in. You can find more details on that opportunity here.

If you’d like more details, have other questions on essential oils, or are interested in buying a few oils, you can contact Carolynn directly at carolynn @ mylittlebitoflife.com or through her blog here.

I would love to try essential oils on my son. He was diagnosed with autism. I think the calming and the purifying would be beneficial for sure. Thanks for the opportunity to win. :)

  2. Nancy Wilbur says

I am a distributor and I still order the oils from Amazon, why don’t YOU sign up then you won’t have to worry about hurting anybody’s feelings. You don’t have to sell to have an account, nor do you have to have minimum monthly orders.

  3. says

This looks like an interesting business concept; I am not sure whether its better to just buy the products outright or sell it, for my family. Like Crystal, I haven’t purchased specific brands, but buy brands of essential where I have discounts, whether its Amazon cards, or at GNC with iBotta rebates. If anyone would mind emailing me about more of the company specifics, or someone looking to build-up their team, please email me at theladypreferstosave@gmail.com. Thank you so much!

  4. Bailey says

I am so excited about this giveaway! Thanks for the chance! I am beyond ready to test essential oils in my home… with two little boys to keep up with I feel we could benefit from them greatly. Oh I am just so grateful for the giveaway!

  5. Lana says

Just giving a shout out for Heritage essential Oils (.com). They have no dealers so their prices are always very good and they have only the best quality oils. I personally would be leary of purchasing any old brand just because it is the best price. You only want the best oils for medicinal purposes. Inexpensive oils are fine for cleaners and such. We only use Heritage oils.

  6. Charlotte Whatley says

I want to learn more about the business opportunity if someone can email me about their experience. mikelee01@outlook.com My name is Charlotte

Crystal, you said that you have friends that sell essential oils. Would any one of your friends email me please so that I can get a better idea of whether I want to sell essential oils or not.

  7. Jenni says

Crystal, I don’t think you’re being a people pleaser by buying off amazon. If you were, you’d buy them from ALL your friends! ;).

  8. says

My 12 yr old son suffers with chronic severe TMJ. As long as we use a drop of doTerra balance along with a drop of Lavender on his jawline at night before bed, he has no headaches and no jaw pain. It’s been a lifesaver for him..
And I also use a drop of Balance, Lavender and one drop of doTerra OnGuard massaged into the kids’ backs and bottoms of feet before bed during flu season.
I no longer sell or endorse doTerra, but I am using up what I have of the oils, which is a lot. I no longer allow our family to ingest the oils, and stick to just one drop heavily diluted for use.

    • Sheila says

I’m curious about why you are staying away from ingesting? I’m new to e.o.s and have just started with a drop of peppermint in a large glass of water for upset tummies. It seems to help. (I don’t have any coconut oil to use as a carrier for peppermint to use topically.)
      Thanks!

      • Maria says

Please check out Using Essential Oils Safely blog or facebook group or Robert Tisserand’s blog or facebook page. With peppermint it has to do with your mucous membranes, with other oils other body parts even breathing. It has little to do with brand and everything to do with the constituents make up essential oils.

Also there are not different philosophies. Information has been twisted to suit the suppliers. In France, you must be licensed to administer internal usage and it is not done as a daily preventative, but only in certain cases. You will find inhalation and topical, properly diluted, very effective if not more so than internal use.

There are many vintage aromatherapists’ names I could share, but want to leave you with one last one for now: Robert Pappas, Chemist Check out his notes on Essential Oil University FB page where he busts the myths.

I love essential oils! There are so many amazing health benefits from using them. I have not tried the Young Living Essential Oils yet, but I’m excited to do so.
I have a wonderful daily detox drink recipe on my blog that uses lemon essential oil. It gently cleanses the body, and I’ve noticed clearer, brighter skin and increased energy when I drink it regularly!
    Thanks for the info, Crystal!

  10. says

I have this kit and it is AMAZING. I entered because I want my sister to have this soooooooo BAD! How fun to be able to do this as a giveaway. :D I hope we win, I hope we win, I hope we win. *crossing fingers*

  11. Michelle says

I LOVE my Young Living Essential Oils! This is a great giveaway that will hopefully help some family! I love sharing with others the joys of essential oils! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  12. AmyB says

Crystal, I’m so glad you’ve had good experience buying the oils from Amazon! Unfortunately, I’ve had friends that didn’t. If you know and trust the reseller on Amazon, then you can trust you aren’t getting recapped and half empty bottles :-/

I can completely understand your dilemma, and I appreciate your stance :-)

Thank you for sharing the wonderful benefits of essential oils!

  13. Darla Bunyan says

I want this soooooo bad! I have wanted to try Young Living but, the budget does not allow for it at the moment. I hope I win!!!!

  14. Sheila says

I’ve just started using them. I got a small starter kit from doTerra that is peppermint, lemon, and lavender. We have a lot of allergies in our family, so I wanted to start with the oils that weren’t blends.
I really like them, but one of the things I want to do is diffuse them. Crystal, where did you get your diffuser and how well is it working for you? I’ve seen several on Amazon, but they run from cheap to expensive and reviews are mixed on all of them. I’ve thought about going on the cheaper end just to see if diffusing works for us, but I haven’t taken the plunge, yet.
Thanks for the giveaway and the info!

  15. says

Just a word of caution, as the topic of buying oils off of amazon was shared in this post. It is horrible to have to admit, but it is very easy for someone to empty the contents of a bottle of YL oil, or any other brand for that matter and place a brand new cap that has been unopened on a bottle, giving it the appearance of being brand new. When you are purchasing something BELOW even member/wholesale cost, it has to raise eyebrows as the why someone would sell and lose money. One of the biggest reasons I choose Young Living is the guarantee of quality that I want for me and my family – so the only way for me to truly get that is direct from the company, not a middle man. I would never purchase and use the oils as I do, if I were unable to guarantee the quality – you just never know what truly is inside the bottle. I am not familiar with other companies, but Young Living offers a great reward program for it’s members, which gives even a larger discount, up to an additional 20% off in reward points, plus free products each month, which you miss out on when you purchase from other sources. Just want people to be informed to make the best decision with good information :-)

Yes, I’ve heard of this happening. I’ve been careful to make sure I’m getting it from a distributor who is selling through Amazon and not a random source. So far, I’ve had great experiences and I love that I can use Swagbucks to purchase them. ;)

  16. Mary H. says

I, too, am a distributor for YL. I did not enter the giveaway because I feel EVERYone should get these amazing oils in their hands. A few months ago, actually a year and a half ago when my friend was raving about them, I was very skeptical.

Fast forward to today, I have not caught two of my children’s nasty colds by using Thieves. My oldest(14yo) is begging for her own bottle of Thieves and diffuser because she loves when her room smells like “Christmas.”

By self discovery I found out that Lavender helped with my asthma after a severe asthma attack. Adding Peppermint helped immensely to open my chest even quicker.

These oils are amazing!!!!!! I just can’t believe I waited so long.

*I understand about the friend thing. I had so many that I could have bought from or signed up under, it was a bit difficult to choose.

  17. Kelly Floden says

My son has SPD. I have heard good things about oils, especially young living. Thanks for the chance to win! :)

  18. says

I love using essentials oils and have only purchased a select few over the years. It would be great to win this collection to learn more about the different oils and how they could benefit my family and home. Thanks!

  19. Christi says

I have read that you shouldn’t rub straight essential oil on your skin (especially children’s skin)…..is this true? If so, what “carrier oil” do you use? Clearly, I am new at this and I appreciate your insight!

    • says

It depends on the oil, some you can put on “neat” or just straight from the bottle. Some you need to dilute with another oil: olive, coconut, grapeseed, almond, etc. You should always dilute with children 2 and under (always test on your skin first) and it’s recommended for children 6 and under.

    • says

Coconut oil is a great carrier oil for kids. You can drop a drop or two into a spoonful of coconut oil and mix it in.

Others here with more experience will probably have some other great suggestions, too.

  20. says

I’m a newbie to oils but have started to quickly love the mixture of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint! I haven’t had to take any allergy medicine in months! :) Thank you for the opportunity to win an essential oils kit!

  21. Pam says

Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. I need to earn $ & have been looking into essential oils. Not sure which company to go with. This giveaway would help make that decision.
My daughter also has Asperger’s & ADHD – the reason I started looking into it, again.
    Thanks again,
    Pam
