These are the things you are giving access to when you use the Facebook app to get the coupon:

    THIS APP WILL RECEIVE:
    Your basic info
    Your email address (jshrp@hotmail.com)
Your profile info: description, birthday and likes
    Friends’ birthdays
    Friends’ likes
Access to post on your behalf
Permission to access your data when you’re offline

I’m not that concerned about what Amazon knows about me, I order from them a lot and I’m sure they already know plenty, but I have stopped using all Facebook apps after two of my friends had their emails hacked and the most likely culprit is a Facebook app that was able to get the information it needed to do so. Those friends don’t use the apps but their Facebook friends do. I don’t want to do anything to compromise my friends privacy so even though $5 off is a sweet deal it is just too costly in my opinion.

Just got mine! thanks. I think this should help me purchase something I have been saving my swagbucks up for lately. Just have to see if what I want to buy is shipped and sold by Amazon so that it qualifies for the discount.

Thanks for the post. A little vent (not directed at you), I’m frustrated that so many deals these days need a Facebook or Twitter account to access them. It’s unfair to those of us who decide to stay off of social networking sites. I used to be on Facebook, but left for several reasons, I’m better off without it. But I do miss the good deals (and staying in touch with a few family members that I didn’t have contact with otherwise).
