Here’s a great tip from reader, Nancy:
Hi–I read your blog and have an idea for one of your 31 Ways to Earn Extra Cash for Christmas series. I do work on mturk.com (are you familiar with it? It’s run by Amazon.com).
There are lots of surveys on there and most of them tell you upfront if you qualify. I’ve earned over $60 this week doing surveys on there. You can spend the money you earn right on Amazon.com, or have it transferred to a bank account.
I wrote more about how it works and some tips I’ve learned on my blog post here. -Nancy

I have been doing mturk for a few years now, and I agree, it can be slow to earn money. But, it’s also nice when I am placing an Amazon order to get a few bucks off here and there from doing the little tasks.
This time of year every penny seems to count even more, so I tend to turk at night when I’m watching tv.
Best of luck to those who do use it! 🙂

For what it’s worth, there’s one company “Movie Enquirer” that’s REALLY good! You have to have cable in order to be able to do them, and you may even need the on demand feature. But they pay out around $2 per survey, and the surveys are really easy. The bigger plus is that once you’re on their list, they e-mail you every time they put on new hits. You have to grab them fast. With the high payout and ease of completion, they go fast!

I did it a few years ago and didn’t make much money. I think it is a good way to pad income if every dollar counts and you’re in a tight spot and don’t have anything else to do, but to me would not be worth it other than that.

Mturk is a great way to earn a little extra. I have made about 2000 this year and could make more. But there are pitfalls. If you like I have some tips up on my blog, bradthegeek.hubpages.org

Strange, I just checked this and apparently I typed the site wrong!
It is bradthegeek.hubpages.com

I don’t doubt your reader makes money on MTurk, but I found it to be an EXCRUCIATINGLY slow way of making some extra money. You really have to put in a substantial amount of time to make any ‘real’ money. I did some transcriptions and that earned me decent money, but you really have to concentrate. It wouldn’t be something I recommend to people, but it does net you some cash if you’re really in need.

I completely agree! I thought it was a very slow way of making money! But if you are in need and have nothing better to do, this may be a good idea for you.
