Easy Cheesy Italian Bread

Ingredients  

Dough Ingredients:

  • 2.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 t. sugar
  • 1 T. yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 T. oil

Topping Ingredients:

  • 2 T. Italian dressing or 1 T. olive oil
  • 3/4 t. garlic salt
  • dash black pepper
  • 2 T. parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 c. shedded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 t. Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 1/2 c flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
  • In a smaller bowl, combine warm water and oil. Add to flour mixture and stir well.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 1-2 minutes, adding more flour if needed.
  • Cover, and let rise in a greased bowl in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 450º F.
  • After the dough is risen, press it into a 12-inch greased pizza pan (I use an ungreased pizza stone).
  • Brush with salad dressing (you can also brush with olive oil and use a little extra extra garlic salt if you don’t like Italian dressing) and sprinkle with spices and cheeses.
  • Bake at 450ºF for 15 minutes.
