Best Honey Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients  

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease an 11″ x 14″ pan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter.
  • Add in eggs, honey, and milk and mix well.
  • In a smaller bowl, mix flour, baking powder, corn meal and salt.
  • Carefully stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients carefully. (Do not overmix — the batter will be lumpy.)
  • Pour batter into greased baking pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
