If you're looking for the perfect fudgy brownie, these are it! We've made them dozens of times over the years and they always turn out!

Ingredients

unsweetened cocoa powder

baking soda

cup
melted butter, divided
▢

cup
boiling water
▢

granulated sugar

eggs

1 ⅓
cup
flour

vanilla extract

salt

chopped pecans (optional)

chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
Instructions
Grease a 9″x13″ baking pan and set aside.
Preheat the oven to
350
°F
In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda.
Whisk in 1/3 cup melted butter and boiling water.
Stir until well blended.
Stir in sugar, eggs, and remaining 1/3 cup melted butter.
Add flour, vanilla, and salt.
Stir in nuts (if using) and chocolate chips.
Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
Notes
Note: If you prefer your brownies not quite as sweet, you can always scale back on the number of chocolate chips.
