::Over at Small Notebook, Rachel has an excellent post up with 20 Tips to Waste Less Food. Definitely worth a read!
::Looking for a few things you can do to earn some extra income? Be sure to check out my regularly-updated page here and then visit Carrie over at MoneySavingMethods for a listing of the latest paid Market Research opportunities available. I've not had great success with these (I signed up for one years ago, did all the work, and was never paid my $75, in spite of their confirmation that I did complete all the necessary requirements to earn my check. Oh well!) but I know that many folks do make some great side income off of these so check out Carrie's post if you're interested.

I have just recently started making a little extra money on Market research sites and so far my experience has been great. After I get a little more experience with the different companies I plan to post my thoughts and reviews on my blog. You should definitely give it another try, you can get a nice stream of income if you sign up for more than one.

My husband should read the tips for not wasting food. Saturday for dinner he made spaghetti for our family. Super nice, right? But he made the entire 3-LB package of noodles! We usually only eat 1 LB. I tried to use the rest in left-over dishes, but wound up throwing some away anyway….:)

That stinks, Crystal! That is a lot of money they didn’t pay you!! I would have filed a BBB report. Frustrating when companies do that.
When you do Market Research/Focus Groups locally, they always pay while you are there.
The last one I did, we were all handed our $100 as we finished and walked out the door.
My 6 yr. old son did a cereal study, and they gave him his money, too, when he was done. He loved it! We used it to show him how to save, donate and keep a bit to spend for himself. It was a great life lesson.
The online companies I have worked with thus far have sent me my check. I got my last check 3 days after I requested it. I couldn’t believe it!
