So, we started back to our regular homeschool schedule today… and well, while it was a good day, I’m still really dragging. My doctor has cleared me to be able to get up and around, provided I take it easy.
I’m glad that I’m no longer sequestered to the sofa like I was this weekend, but man, I am still functioning in such low gear, it seems. Everything takes me twice or four times as long and then I have to stop and rest for awhile.
I did make it to the chiropractor this afternoon and then to a little bit of Silas’ baseball game tonight. But I felt like an old woman that I could only make it through two innings before I needed to come home and crash on the sofa.
However, I’m so happy to be getting a little stronger with each passing day. And I’m also really happy about how much sleep I’ve been getting!
The last two nights, I’ve been asleep by 9:30 p.m. — and then I’ve woken up before my alarm went off feeling completely rested. I can’t remember the last time that has happened two nights in row. Maybe I’ll actually turn this into a long-term habit??
Today’s project for the 5-day Homemaking Challenge was to tackle a closet. I chose the cleaning supply closet since it’s been in dire need of a makeover for months and months.
I posted this on Instagram and said: #KonMari comes to the cleaning closet! Yikes!! Taking everything out of one closet is a pretty scary task!
(Also, the black and white filter makes it look a little more artsy and a little less like total chaos, don’t you think?? If only there was a filter that could also whip this closet into shape with the touch of a button!) #reallife #homemaking #organization
So. much. better!
Did you clean a closet today? Tell us about it in the comments or, if you’re blogging about it, leave the direct link to your blog post sharing about your accomplishments today.

My goodness, you are wonder woman. Cleaning closets is taking it easy?
I have family coming to visit so I’m working on the 31 day cleaning challenge that you’ve previously posted and done, and I’m seeing a difference. Last night I mopped the kitchen and tonight I’ll be tackling the bedrooms.

I just did this this morning and I threw away a whole trash bag of wrappers and cleaners we bought and didn’t like, so we never use them. I am a purger, and so this made me feel super happy this morning! My cleaning closet looks great and I feel a little lighter. Too bad its the day after trash day…my husband hates when I fill bags so early in the week. Lol

Wow! I really enjoy this book and how the author creativity relates to her own experiences as like when she was a young girl to various client’s in Japan to elaborate her point. I am writing a “game” plan to each sore spot in my home that I would like to tidy. Today, we are celebrating a birthday for my 18 year old daughter.

Oh, I would be so scared to take EVERYTHING out of my closets! Glad to hear you are doing well after your surgery. I had hernia surgery 2 years ago and I was amazed at how slow my recovery was. Keep getting better!

Nice! I am surprised to see paper towels – I didn’t think you used them. I didn’t get my closet completely done yesterday, but I did get all the gift wrap and boxes in there organized.

Hah! I meant to put a note about those for people who have been reading here for a long time and then I forgot to say something! We ended up buying some in the last year to have on hand for when people come over. Since we’ve been hosting a LOT more people this past year and so many people have asked for paper towels, I bought some to keep on hand for guests.

I really need to get this book, because our house could use some tidying up. 🙂
I didn’t get the cleaning closet clean yesterday, but I am hoping to get it all cleaned out today. I love following along with these challenges, they are so motivating to me.

Take it easy girl!! You may not have been told, but medical folks told my kin years ago that it can take up to a year to get over the effects of being “put under” and back to yourself. Resting a lot those first few weeks is good advice.

This is how I feel ALL the time. Case in point. I wanted to make 2 loaves of zuchinni bread for my primary care doctor’s office. They take such good care of me. My recipe makes 2 loaves and I had everything I needed to make it. But it took me 5 1/2 hours to make it. I do a little and have to rest.
