The Go-Getter’s Guide to Becoming a Virtual Assistant — just $6.50 through Thursday!

I cannot tell you how often I hear from people asking how they can start working online as a virtual assistant. On the flipside, I know there is a ripe market out there of online business owners who are desperate to hire good virtual assistants — I get emails from them all the time!

The problem is, most people who want to be virtual assistants, don’t know how to get started and find jobs. And most business owners who want to hire virtual assistants don’t know where to look to find good help.

That’s why I am so excited about Lisa Morosky’s ebook, The Bootstrap VA. It has everything you ever needed to know about getting started working as a virtual assistant.

And when I say “everything”, I mean it. Lisa left no stone unturned in her ebook. She’s honest about the challenges, she shares many tricks and tips to getting good virtual assistant jobs and keeping them, and she also includes numerous extra links if you want to do additional research on any subject.

One of the things that I loved best was that Lisa interviewed a number of people who work as virtual assistants and those who have hired virtual assistants to share both sides and what others have found works best. There are all sorts of nuggets of wisdom in those interviews!

It’s not often that I get really, really excited about an ebook and it’s even less often that I give an ebook five stars. But I’d give Lisa’s ebook six stars out of five. It’s that thorough, well-written, and just plain excellent.

If you’re considering becoming a virtual assistant, if you’d like to hire a virtual assistant, or you or anyone you know has any interest at all in anything to do with becoming a virtual assistant, please do yourself a favor and get a copy of this ebook.

By the way, there are no affiliate links in this post. Lisa has an affiliate program, but since I’m doing so much gushing in this post, I decided not to use my affiliate link just so you’d know there was no motivation behind my gushing other than that I really, really liked this ebook. 🙂

Special Offer!

Now that I’ve convinced you that you need a copy of this ebook, I’ve got a special offer for you: Use coupon code MONEYSAVINGMOM to get The Bootstrap VA for just $6.50 through Thursday, November 29, 2012. You can also download the Kindle version for $6.50 or the Nook version for $6.50.

As an added bonus, everyone who purchases a copy of the ebook is given access to The Bootstrap VA Facebook Group. This is an exclusive group that provides incredible support when it comes to applying all the information and getting help and encouragement in your journey to become a virtual assistant or to grow your virtual assistant business.

I have always been curious about this. I had the sample sent to my kindle and read through it. Just bought the whole book. Excited to read it. Thank you for finding this and sharing!!

  • I clicked the link to purchase the book but it still says $12.99.
Any one else have this problem?

  • Karleen says:

What if don’t have a kindle or a nook. Can I still purchase the book and download to my phone or computer?

  • Felicia Ramirez says:

Hi from Atlanta. Okay, so I haven’t got the first clue what a virtual assistant is, but I trust your heart, Crystal.

Your words and strong encouragement has inspired me to dig in and dig deep! This may very well be my calling…and if not…then I’ll believe that I’m lead down this path to learn so I can give a push, pull or nudge to that someone in need.

    Thank you; I purchased it!

    Hi,
I just purchased your the Bootstrap VA ebook. I’ve been interested in this topic for a long time, and this ebook sounds very thorough. It seems that V.A.’s will only have an increase in demand as technology advances and businesses move more and more away from the traditional “brick and mortar” way of doing business.

    • Carrie says:

Here I just post a comment about being interested in becoming a V.A., and then realize my above comment has a typo in it! 🙂

    • Lisa Morosky says:

I agree, Carrie! More and more businesses are seeing the plus-side of working virtually with contractors (and being charged just for the time the person uses, and nothing else!). Even brick-and-mortar businesses! And more and more people are seeing that it’s never been a better time than now to create a lifestyle business – that is, a business that fits into your ideal lifestyle. 🙂

Thank you! I recently took on a VA and have so many questions so this book is right up my alley! I took advantage of the Kindle version and look forward to diving into it tonight!

  • Michelle says:

I’m quite interested in this line of work and would love the resource … I’m just wondering if there is merit in purchasing this if I live in Canada? Are the resources/information directly mainly towards Americans trying to get into this line of work?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I think it would be helpful to you too, Michelle. I’m thinking that the only US-specific information is a small section on taxes and such. I know that in the Facebook group I have several people from different countries, and I haven’t heard any negative “this wasn’t helpful” feedback from them. So I think it’d be good for you too!

If you click over to my site – TheBootstrapVA.com – there’s a chapter-by-chapter layout of what’s in the book, so that might help clarify too. 🙂

    • Lisa Morosky says:

Hi Michelle! I think my other comment I just submitted got stuck in the queue (had a link in it). So real quick again…

I think it’ll be helpful to you too! There’s really only one US-specific, small section (on taxes and such), and I’m positive that any US reference you could find the Canadian equivalent on your own. I have several people from different countries in the group, and I haven’t heard any issues about the information not being applicable. So I think you’re good!

If you click over to my website (just click on my name on this comment), there’s a chapter-by-chapter explanation of what’s in the eBook. That might help shine some light on whether or not it’s for you too. 🙂

  • I purchased this book a few weeks ago and LOVE it. Lots of great practical tips to get my business rolling.

  • Heather N. says:

I appreciate your integrity, but if you wouldn’t mind would you leave your affiliate link in the comments? I want you to get the credit when we buy!! 🙂

  • Liz says:

Thanks so much for this, right on time for me. I spent many years working in NYC as an Executive Assistant and would love to set myself up with a VA business I can do from home now that I am out of the city. I had seen a few things online that seemed to require a large upfront investment and training and well… that just didn’t fit for me. Excited to read and learn! Good luck with it Lisa 🙂

  • jeannie says:

I need a VA, but cannot find a decent one. Any advice on how to find one?

    • Lisa Morosky says:

Referrals! Ask anyone you know who uses a VA, who they’re using. Even if that person’s VA can’t take you on, it’s likely that the VA will have other names for you too.

  • Thanks for the code, I just ordered. I’m looking forward to reading it.

  • Regina H. says:

Hello, I just purchased the Kindle version. Looking forward to reading this book. I am in the midst of starting my VA business and love reading valuable information to help me on this journey. How do we get access to the FB group?

    Thanks.

    • Lisa Morosky says:

Just join the group, forward me via email (email address is on my site, in the eBook, on the Facebook page about section – everywhere!) your purchase receipt so I can verify you ordered, and I’ll give you access ASAP! 🙂
