All mic’d up and ready to take the stage Saturday night at the San Diego event. While waiting, Kaitlynn tried to get a selfie with me. And well, it soon turned into a Silly Selfie Fest. I have no idea where my kids get their spunk and personality from. 😉
So, um, yeah. I kinda fell off the goal-setting wagon.
It was a little bit intentional (I was on a blogging break, after all) and it was a little unintentional (summer was just full to the brim with lots of travel and projects and fun!).
But, never fear, I’m back in the saddle again and ready to get this show on the road!
So without further ado, here are my 10 goals for this week:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Start our fall homeschool schedule.
2. Finish reading one read aloud book with the kids.
7. Host friends from out of town for a little Blogging Retreat this weekend (yay!!)
8. Write notes to the Compassion children we sponsor.
Business Goals
9. Write an article for an upcoming piece in a magazine.
10. Get everything ready for our big Make Over Your Mornings sale next week (stay tuned for details!)

June was an especially full month. It was full of good things, adventures, outings with friends, time with people we love, many projects completed, and five different trips.
Whew! I don’t regret the “yeses” we said, but the truth is: I am tired and ready to take some time to slow down and catch my breath. So that’s exactly what the next few weeks are for our family.
Other than a few commitments, we’re taking the next few weeks to really slow down, unplug, hang out together as a family, catch up on sleep, and be intentional about resting and recharging.
Goals from 2 weeks ago:
Marriage/Mothering/Homemaking Goals
1. Write love notes to each of the kids and to Jesse.
6. Do one thing every day to refresh myself/recharge my batteries.
Local Ministry/Hospitality/Friendship Goals
7. Have a coffee date with a friend.
Business Goals
8. Finish writing an article for an upcoming magazine feature.
9. Launch our new t-shirt line with Cents of Style. (So excited to show you these!!)
10. Work on outlining the video course for Money-Making Mom.

Last week was Kaitlynn’s birthday, so we celebrated in number of ways — including a Mommy-Daughter Date and taking crazy selfies together. Because, of course! 🙂
It’s another full week this week! I’m at the ice rink all day today with Kaitlynn, then I’m headed to NYC tomorrow to film a segment with Fox Business (Eek! I’m split between being crazy excited about this and crazy nervous… it’s definitely another opportunity to jump out of my comfort zone! I’ve only been to NYC once and I’ve never been there by myself, so it should be an adventure!).
{The segment is supposed to air on Friday night, but things can always change when it comes to TV. I’ll keep you posted when I know for sure!}
I fly back home on Wednesday morning and then we’re packing up to head to Atlanta to meet my sister and her family for a few days of exploring the city together.
And then we’re headed back home again to spend time with two sets of out-of-town guests that are coming in Saturday and Sunday.
So with all of this in mind, I’m going to keep my goals very simple this week.
5. Finish writing an article for an upcoming project.
6. Finish reading and writing an endorsement for another author’s book.

Whew! So I survived a very big week last week — Monday I spent all day at the ice rink with Kaitlynn and then we got together with our Monday Group that evening.
Monday evening, around 9:30 p.m., we went into full-on Make Over Your Mornings Launch mode and kept going strong through 8 p.m. Tuesday evening — except for a short 5-hour break to sleep.
I went to bed by 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening and slept in a little on Wednesday morning and then headed to spend all day at the ice rink again with Kaitlynn.
We had to get up by 4 a.m. to get out the door for our early-morning flight. We spent all morning Thursday on planes and in airports to make it to San Francisco by noon. And then we stopped quickly by our hotel and then spent all afternoon in meetings with ePantry.
We took an hour break to go on the Harbor Cruise and then went out to dinner with the ePantry team, and then crashed at our hotel around 10 p.m. (12 a.m. our time).
Silas and I both got a good night’s rest and then headed to the airport around 9 a.m. for more airports and plane rides — making it back to TN around 7 p.m. We got home, unpacked, hung out with the family, and then went straight to bed and slept in until 8 a.m. the next morning.
Saturday and Sunday were quiet days at our house — and it was such a nice break! I got caught up on laundry, went grocery shopping, went to Silas’ last baseball game with friends, went to church, served at church, cleaned up the house, and read for about 5 hours. It was bliss!
And today, I was back at the ice rink again all day and then we had dinner with our Monday Group — some of my favorite people on the planet and we laughed until we cried tonight recounting all sorts of stories and anecdotes from our lives. We’re so blessed to know these families and have the opportunity to do life with them!

I took the picture above while I was in the middle of working on getting caught up on the laundry. Yes, I may have been just a wee bit behind on it. 🙂
Kaitlynn and I had a nail-painting date yesterday. I think all of my kids (and Jesse) have the love language of quality time. Which has been good (and a learning process) for me — a girl who is much more inclined to do rather than to just be.
I’ve been trying to be more intentional about regular one-on-one time with each of my kids each week as I’ve discovered this is something that fills up their tanks like almost nothing else.
This child. I can’t get enough of him. This morning he woke up early to snuggle with me while I finished some blogging work.
While we were snuggling, he told me all about how much he loved me, how much he loved spending time with me, and how he would never get married so he could live with me for the rest of his life and help me.
A little while later, he said, “You know, in 7 years, I’m going to be a teenager!” I did not need that reminder this morning. And yet, it was good to remember just how quickly they are growing up and how important it is to cherish the everyday moments. Because they are fleeting.
6. Listen to at least two inspiring audios/podcasts while working/driving.
7. Go to bed by 10:30 p.m. every night.
Local Ministry/Hospitality/Friendship Goals
8. Dinner with a friend from out-of-town who will be in TN this weekend.
Business Goals
9. Record a short video for a project.
10. Get the sales page finished for the Make Over Your Mornings Course.

So, it was a rather eventful weekend (more on that in a post later today!) and I am crazy sore from it, so I decided to skip my usual Monday morning Cleaning Project post and am just taking it super easy today.
We’re winding down our 2014-2015 school year and getting ready to gear up for our 2015-2016 school year. Since we travel multiple times during the school year and we find it works better to have a steady routine and rhythm going all year long, we usually don’t take much of a summer break.
We do have a more relaxed school schedule in the summer, but we still stick with most of the studies and projects like usual — mostly because we love learning and reading together so we might as well just keep going. 🙂
Jesse and I spent way too long looking at curriculum options and discussing/planning this next year. We had so much fun thinking of what would be best for our kids and what would work best for this season of our lives.
We finally landed on Sonlight Core D for me to teach all three kids together in the mornings and Jesse’s going to teach Math, Language Arts, and Science in the afternoons (we’re using Monarch Online for those subjects). This is our first year to do Sonlight and I am stoked about it!
I’m also completely spoiled because Jesse and I are splitting the homeschooling responsibilities this year. He took over some of the homeschooling this past year and loved it so much that he wanted to continue co-homeschooling.
I love that the kids get to spend so much one-on-one and one-on-three time with him as a result and that he’s so invested in their education. I know that this set-up wouldn’t work for a lot of families and situations, but it is such a great fit for our family right now.
3. Get caught back up on the laundry (I’d been doing SO good with this — until I went out of town for 5 days! Determined to get back on top of this again!)
6. Listen to at least two inspiring audios/podcasts while working/driving.
7. Go to bed by 10:30 p.m. every night.

8. Have a coffee date with a new friend.

9. Record a short video for a project.
10. Get all details finalized for the Make Over Your Mornings Course Launch.
