Stacy emailed in the following tip:
A few weeks ago, I was reading this post about writing to stores, telling them how much you love their products, and seeing if they have any coupons they are willing to offer. I decided to write to Pampers because we go through them so much.
I told them how I love their diapers and that they are the only diapers my kids could wear because every other brand gave them chemical burns. I requested coupons and got an email back saying they would be more than happy to send me some emails and also asked me if I would be willing to participate in a diaper study because they are trying to improve the diapers. I said “yes” thinking they would send me a couple diapers to try out.
Well, I got a package in the mail from them today. Not only did I get 5 coupons for diapers, I also got 2 bags of diapers to try out! My son goes through diapers pretty quick so the extra diapers really help out. So just wanted to say thanks for the tip! -Stacy

I don’t know how to thank you. After 9 month of my son waking because he needed a diaper change during the night, I was exhausted all day because once he woke up it took almost 2 hours to get him back to bed. My sister went out and bought us a package of pampers. I was skeptical but gave it a try that evening. My son slept for 10 hours without waking up. You can only imagine how much better we both sleep, and I have a fully rested child. Keep it up Pampers!

I wanted to share with you one very special lady that I call my friend. She is 68 years old, she has had colon cancer, skin cancer, breast cancer and many other illnesses and has survived each and every one coming out on top. She is currently raising her 3 grandchildren because unfortunately her only daughter is a drug addict. My friend has completely turned life around and made sacrifices in the interests of these 3 making herself one of the most unselfish, big hearted lady that I have had the pleasure of calling my friend for over 30 years.
Recently she learned that her daughter had given birth again, this time to twin baby girls and there is no one to take care of them. They were placed in foster care right after their birth, less than 2 months ago. My friend, retired in January and on a fixed income, still raising her 3 other grandchildren, ages 13 to 9 years of age – made a decision once again to do the impossible and was granted custody of the infants. Can you imagine doing something so wonderful, opening your home, sharing and putting your retirement on hold and most of all increasing your heart with love for these two little ones?
I am writing to you because I would like to somehow make her life easier in making ends meet. I would like to know if there is any type of program, coupons, etc., that would be available that she could take advantage of to get through the first year of this new adventure?

I emailed Pampers and they basically told me where I find their coupons. I was kinda bummed that they couldn’t send me anything.

While I do love this tip and have done it myself, as someone who answers the customer service inquiries for several small natural food companies I can tell you that we get dozens of these requests every day. I do love being able to send product to folks (none of my clients use coupons) but I have to be incredibly selective of the people we choose to send to. There are a set number of cases of product set aside to send out and we try to reserve them for cases where replacements are needed for whatever reason and for really special stories. Please don’t be too disappointed if you get a “thanks, we love you too, but I can’t send anything this time” response, especially if you are contacting a small family owned company that doesn’t have the budget of many large corporations. Also, stay kind even if you get a negative response. I’ve had months where I end up with extra product so I went back into my emails and found someone who I’d had to say “no” to because I had run out of samples but who sent me a kind “thank you” anyway and sent them product.

I love this! When I truly love a company, I try to email them and let them know. I’ve gotten free products, and high value coupons.
On the flip side, recently we went out for my husband’s birthday, at a seafood chain restaurant. We don’t go out to sit-down restaurants often at all (usually our anniversary and our birthdays) and there were several aspects about my husband’s dinner and my daughter’s dinner that were quite disappointing. I got in touch with the company and they sent me a $40 gift card to their restaurant to give them another chance. I was surprised and pleased!

This happened to us recently as well. My husband and I went to a BBQ chain restaurant – one of our favorites – but in a new town. Our service was horrible from the start to the finish. I’ve never been treated so badly. I submitted a form online explaining our night and received a call back from the district manager. He was very apologetic. I explained that I knew it wasn’t the kind of service that this restaurant normally gives and how much I enjoy them normally. He was so appreciative of my comments and commitment to them that he sent us a gift card. I thought it would be for $20 or $25, but when it came, it was $50! We got two meals out of it and I made sure to call him back and let him know service had definitely improved!!

We have a BBQ chain restaurant in our town as well. Once or twice a year we’ll get takeout and almost every time they have messed up our order in some way, but we wouldn’t catch it until we got home. We’d call the restaurant and they’d usually send us $10 in gift certificates every time – usually just for a missed drink or something!
Always call the restaurant if they mess up a takeout order! At another restaurant they missed one of our food items. We called them and they had our item ready for us to pick up. They also threw in three extra items for free!

So inspiring and encouraging that so many companies today are grateful for customer feedback.

Sadly, it didn’t work for me when I tried it after the post here a few weeks ago. I sent a message to Keebler, because my 9month old baby loves their pita crackers. They said basically, “too bad, so sad, no coupons for you!”

Unfortunately, I recently had the same result. We are adopting a 7 y/o kitty and I wanted to try a new brand of kitty litter. The response I got to my query on whether they had coupons available was to keep checking the Sunday paper. It was certainly worth a try and I know I’ll try with other companies in the future, it is a good idea.

Same result here, and with Pampers no less 🙁
It was all we bought with our daughter…will definitely be trying other brands out with our son. Sorry, but as much as I spend you have to earn loyalty!

If you join CafeMom they have a Influencer’s group that gets to test out fun stuff like diapers! I did the Pamper’s study, Huggies has a group on their website and are really nice if you email them!
