I’ve been enjoying finding little bits of time here and there to work on my handwork projects — mostly when we’re together with friends and family or in the evenings when we have our family Bible time.
I finished another Knitted Cup Cozy. I like how this one turned out better than the first one I made.
I also worked on my embroidered quilt square for my sister’s baby quilt. You can see my progress on this from a few weeks ago here. I’m hoping to finish it tomorrow. We’ll see!
My favorite recent project was definitely these Simple Knitted Fingerless Gloves. I’m incredibly happy with how they turned out!
Did you complete any handwork projects this week? If so, I’d love to hear about your projects. And if you blogged about them, leave your links in the comments.

I love the cozy! I often take my coffee with me when I leave the house in a Mason Jar and I have been thinking that I need a cozy for it. I’m definitely going to try this!

I love your projects! There are several projects on Ravelry.com that use scraps of yarn to make a project. One I’m doing now is a little knitted bunny for a baby shower http://josoandsew.wordpress.com/tutorials/knitted-bunnies/
There is also an apple core blanket that can be found on Ravelry. Hope you enjoy. It’s a nice meditative activity 😉

Your projects look great. I have a huge tablecloth to embroider. I pick it up and work on it and then put it down for months. It going to be a life long project since it’s so huge and detailed.
I helped my daughter finish her stuffed animal she was sewing, it turned out really cute. I was hoping to find time to start a new knitting project but my daughter wanted to start a new crochet project and needed some help. So maybe this week I will find time.

Great job! I love the fingerless gloves! Thanks for posting the link for directions. I hope to learn knitting this year and make these. I have been thinking about teaching my granddaughter handiwork, I feel it is a lost art in our drive thru world. I feel it would give her a positive outlet and allow her to bless others. Thanks so much for sharing!

I finished a tablecloth (sewing) that I have had the parts sitting around for about 2 years now. I used the extra fabric to make matching napkins. Now I’m working on a lap quit for my wheel-chair bound Aunt from some of my cousin’s clothes (she passed away 4 years ago). Hoping to have that done before my cousin’s would-have-been 35th birthday in March. It’s a hard time of year for my Aunt and I’m hoping it will be a comfort.
Those fingerless gloves may just make me take up knitting! And I love that rocket ship quilt block! When is your sister’s baby due?

Just posted my knitting projects on my blog as well! My daughter and I just picked up knitting a month or two ago and have been enjoying the learning process. Now I am hooked and loading up on a “to-make” list via Ravelry. Not sure if you’ve become a part of that community yet? Some great stuff there!

Great work! Thanks for posting stuff like this, I love to see your completed projects. I knit and crochet and RARELY can I say that I love how my stuff turns out — it’s never perfect!

I figured out how to make fingerless gloves too (crochet). I made 3 pair for gifts this Christmas. I also figured out how to crochet socks. The hard part is getting them to match…

I have the same embroidered block that I just finished in December. I have started making some bears in January. I make the blocks for new grandbabies the I will be having this year.

I have been trying to use up supplies I have around the house. I am in the middle of making twenty two granny square blankets to give away as gifts. Love the coffee cup cozy.

Very nice job on the knitting. I’ve got a project I started a yr ago I just can’t find the time to work on it because I hate picking stuff up and putting it down repeatedly. Eventually I’ll finish my table runner though simplest design ever just straight knitting no fanciness but I’m doing it with dollar store jute twine so it has IMO a real rustic look to it.

I have challenged myself to not buy anymore supplies until I create 100 items in 100 days! I have too much that I never use. So this was my answer!

I need to learn to knit! Those fingerless gloves are awesome. My tween wears the pair we found at the dollar store a few years ago almost 24/7. Would love to get her more. Thanks for all your inspiration! 🙂

Yeah! You finished the fingerless gloves! They look really cute. I fit in knitting and small crafts the same way. I knit during family movie night, while my husband drives, when having coffee with friends, at the kids activities (I can look up a lot and still knit so I can watch their games and knit) .In fact I have knitted so much around my friends that one of them gave me a wooden sign for my birthday one year that says “if I am sitting I am knitting” and that is probably true about 80% of the time.

Your work is beautiful! Did you teach yourself to knit or take a class?
Crystal Paine says
I took a knitting class and then have just tried to keep learning a little bit at a time!

Loving all your posts today…I feel like I’m all over the place commenting but something in almost every post caught my eye! In this one…those fingerless gloves are really beautiful…I love the color. I used to knit a lot but all I did was hats and scarves and I got a little bored…however it was really relaxing and stress reducing. I was inspired by your book to pick it up again as one of my relaxing/recharging activities. I am going to try both the cozy cup and gloves….it will be a nice switch up from the hats and scarves! I look forward to seeing more of your projects!
