It’s Monday and guess what that means? That means it’s time for our weekly deep-cleaning project! Every Monday morning this year, I’ll be assigning us all a deep-cleaning project to tackle (well, that is, if want to join us!)
Today’s project is to tackle your refrigerator. And I selfishly assigned this one because mine needs some serious TLC! 🙂
Here’s my plan for this morning:
- Read my Bible, exercise, and shower.
- Get dressed to my shoes. (Thanks, Flylady!)
- Eat some breakfast, read aloud to the kids, start a load of laundry.
- Morning chores with the kids.
- Jesse take Kathrynne & Silas to the dentist. Kaitlynn stay home with me to work on her school projects.
- Switch the laundry.
- Clean out the refrigerator — toss expired items, wipe down shelves & door, re-organize.
- Morning Time with the kids.
This evening, I’ll share a post about how my morning well and give you an update (with pictures) what I did and how my refrigerator-cleaning project went.
Need some motivation? Check out my post on 10 Ways to Make Cleaning More Fun.
Want to join me? Leave a comment to let us know you’re participating! If you have time, tell us what your morning plan is, too.

Cleaned the fridge. Only took 30 min to clean every shelf & drawer plus check for expired dates -makes me wonder why I put it off. Thanks for the motivation!

I cleaned my fridge up last week and will be working on the freezer this week with the 34 Days to Clean Challenge. So many challenges so little time. Our refrigerators can always use some extra love.

I moved this summer so the fridge wasn’t too dirty or overrun with old food. But cleaning the refrigerator/stove/dishwasher are the most skipped items on my weekly cleaning list. Thanks for the motivation to finally get it done!!!

I smiled when I saw your nod to Flylady. Her plan saved my house, my sanity and my relationships. The CHAOS acronym really spoke to me.

I cleaned out the fridge today. I even dumped the 2 containers my husband has kept in there for almost 8 years of pickles his mother had made! Normally I just keep shoving them to the back, but I realized that if he hasn’t done anything with them in all this time, he has likely forgotten about them too. Besides, they cannot be safe to eat! We’ll see how long before he notices.

I will be cleaning the fridge and making some more foaming soap. It’s much cheaper than buying foaming soap at the store.

Today I am cleaning the baseboards, one area I typically miss. Even after vacuuming several times a week they still need to be wiped down.

Today I washed tile and wood floors, put away laundry, scrubbed tub (really needed it, and hope to put away the Christmas decorations. I like to keep them up till he end of January. I’m off on Mon/Wed, so I try to get the heavy cleaning done on Mondays. My days start at 5:00 with devos, breakfast, take kids to school and then home to start the cleaning etc….
