The other day I sent out a humorous tweet about how much I love a certain company. I wasn’t too surprised when they tweeted me back, since Twitter is known for connecting people. They asked me to direct message them because they had a surprise for me.
When I contacted them, they said if I sent them my address they would send me a gift card to say thanks. I gave them the information and looked forward to receiving a small token of appreciation.
I got my gift card in the mail yesterday but it was not what I expected. Since this was a business that sells dessert items, I figured the card would be maybe $10-20. When I opened the envelope, I was floored to find a gift card in the amount of $250! I even called the 800 number just to verify.
My decision to tweet them was made on a whim but I’m so thankful God gave me the idea! Just a reminder that it pays to be nice! -Sarah

I also had a great experience with Discovery Toys. The plastic poles to my kids tent broke at the coupling. I called to purchase replacement parts and they sent them no charge. Love when I can say how great they were. Similar experience too with a ride on Elmo plane. The steering wheel came off in my son’s hand, he’s the second kid so it was well loved. I called the company, Tek Nek, and they sent me a new one for just the cost if shipping. Great customer service goes a long way!

I bought my 5 year old a leappad for Christmas last year, something happened and her game cartridges would not play. I chatted with customer service on line, they asked a few basic questions like where I bought it and when. They requested I write a code in black sharpie on the screen and email them a picture. A new leappad was in our mailbox less than 7 days later. Talk about great service!
I also had a great experience with Obermeyer. A coat I bought my son was made of a material that made it wear awful and it looked very ragged by the end of the winter. No questions asked they told me to pick a new coat and they would send it to me. Selection was limited at the time so they said I was welcome to wait until their 2013/2014 selection came out AND to order the next size up! I never expected to be able to get a replacement in a bigger size, they have won me over for future winters for sure!

I called Merrell shoes because both of my children’s shoes were wearing out and the seams were separating on the toes. I had paid quite a bit for them and had expected them to last longer. Not only did they replace them, but they offered to send me the next size up so that they would last even longer. SOO nice. I mailed them the shoes with their mailing label and the new shoes were to my house within a week.

I had a great experience with Graber blinds. Last summer when we moved into our new house I ordered 5 pleated shades. When they arrived they were not as described, they were actually light filtering and not room darkening as advertised. When I brought this to their attention, they sent me a brand new order, my choice of up graded shades. They didn’t want the other shades returned, so I used them in my other rooms. The new shades were over $400. in value! And they were delivered within two days! I was shocked, thankful, and extremely happy! They had excellent CS.

I contacted a company recently about a container that I purchased at Walmart for my dog’s food. I only had the container for a short time and it stopped snapping on – therefore, not keeping the food fresh. I emailed the company and without any other questions I got a new one in the mail! I let them know how pleased I was!!

Simple Human is a great company too! I purchased a $40 kitchen size garbage can a few years ago. It was the only one I could find with a child/pet lock to keep my son out of the garbage (he was 2 at the time). About a year ago, I contacted them to let them know that for $40 I expected this can to last a while, however, the latch had completely stopped locking and it was virtually useless without it. They sent me an email apologizing and asked for my address. They sent me a replacement lid to attach to my garbage can. This lock works great!

Amazon also has fantastic customer service! I have had multiple items replaced for free through them – because they value their customers.

That is awesome to hear that some companies do care about their business and rewards people for just thanking them for their products. Kudos to the company and Twitter.

I love hearing about positive customer service experiences. So often, people are willing to speak up when they have an issue, but few remember to recognize the positive experiences too.

Vita Cost was very good to me. I had ordered 2 bottles of cranberry concentrate and one arrived with a leaky lid (and had spilled some on the packaging). I sent them a quick email and iphone photo and another bottle was on its way, along with a sincere apology. I didn’t even have to return ship the leaky bottle. Very nice customer service!

Excellent! I love to learn of great companies servicing customers in such a wonderful way!

I used avent bottles that I got as a hand me down from my sister. (So a late model) they leaked and when I saw a friend had a new model with the rings you put in, I thought they were leaking because I didn’t have the ring. So, I bought two packs of rings on amazon to find out they didn’t work with that older bottle. I called avent more for just information, wasn’t asking or expecting anything. But, they said we can send 10 replacement bottles . That’s close to $100 value! And I didn’t pay anything for them to start with 🙂
Jessica says
Avent customer service is great! I put about half our bottles in the dishwasher and they got a red tint stain (probably from something else in the load). I contacted Avent via Facebook and they had me call them. They replaced all those bottles plus sent coupons. I really wasn’t looking for that, just a way to get rid of the stains. Very awesome service!

I had a very positive experience with soap.com. I received a coupon code for $10 off any purchase + additional offers on a couple products. We were getting ready to move so I saved it to replenish our paper products. Rather predictably it gets lost during the move. On a whim, I sent them an email. Within a couple minutes of hitting send, I received the automated acknowledgement and an actual response. They empathized with my situation and placed a credit in my account. Everyone I talked to for a while heard about that experience. A little goodwill goes a long way! They have a repeat customer because of if.

Same here. I ordered three large packages of wet Swiffers from Soap.com. (It was my first time to order from them, so I got a discount & used coupons.) One package arrived and was leaking and had a broken seal. I contacted the company about replacing that one, and instead they sent THREE packages and said I could keep the others. Very kind!
Jenna says
I know its the same company, but with diapers.com I was ordering a stroller as a gift for my sister-in-law and was having trouble getting a coupon code to work. I called customer service over the phone and they helped fix it. In addition, I received a hand written note from the customer service rep I had talked to on the phone about a week after I got the stroller, wanting to make sure that I was happy with my purchase, thanks for purchasing from them, etc.
Super impressed.

I received 2 brand new iPods because I answered a company’s request for paragraphs about inspiring people. You can imagine how surprised I was when I received the package 6 weeks later from the company saying the ipods were for myself and my friend because I shared my friend’s inspiring selfless story!
It pays to give praise to others and be humble!

My daughter purchased a new in the box wagon for her son at a second hand store but when she went to assemble it she found that one of the wheels were missing along with a few othr parts. She contacted the manufacturer to see about purchasing the missing parts and after answering a few questions for them she was told that they would send her, free of charge, all the parts she was missing. Great CS, Radio Flyer.
Karen says
Rhonda, I also had great customer service from Radio Flyer. I purchased a wagon on a groupon discount for my grandson. It was for xmas but I bought it in the spring and kept it in the box due to space limitations. The bed of the wagon was dented, but we had no choice but to put it together 2 days before xmas and fill it with his other toys. I had called Radio Flyer but the message was that they give their entire staff the week of xmas off. They contacted me immediately when they got back. No questions asked. No need to send receipts or anything. I asked how I should return the damaged wagon bed and they said not to. They would never have a use for damaged product, I could do what I wanted to with it. The new wagon bed arrived about 4 days after the holiday, shipped priority. They even included a gift of a Radio Flyer duffel bag. I have since learned that Radio Flyer is all made in America, but also, all the parts in it are made in America. Everything. Great company, great product, great customer service.

I love companies with great customer service! I definitely remember them for my repeat business and also recommend them to others. I have received freereplacement parts from Medela for my pump, free parts to a building set I bought for my son at a garage sale (I contacted them about purchasing the parts and they sent them for free). Step 2 has also been generous when I have called for replacement parts. They have sent decals and small parts for free. They even sent me large parts for a discount (I bought a water table at a garage sale for $1 but it had no toys with it. When I explained what I had they offered me all the parts for the table for only a few bucks!)
As a mom of 2, soon to be mom of 4, having companies with awesome service makes life just a little bit easier!

I was surprised about Ebay, usually that’s where I would get my coupons from since I love sending my expired coupons to the soldiers stationed overseas, my surprise was I left a positive feed back for this particular seller and both of the times that I have gotten my coupons from him he has sent me some very high value coupons or either some extra ones for free.

what is the best way so send coupons to soldiers?

I personally use CouponsToTroops.com to adopt military families.

One of my friends ordered Pig of the Month. Their daughter choked on broken pieces of bone. Went to the hospital- big ordeal. She contacted the company and got a horrible response from their customer service. She had to fight to get refunded for the product. The lady was so rude and inconsiderate to her. She had recommended this company to friends and family before and so she sent out a copy of the e-mail conversation to everyone she knew. She could have sued but didn’t want the trouble. Now whenever i hear about that company i make sure to tell everyone about her experience. Bad customer service will hurt your brand in the long haul. Good customer service like thing company is just as long lasting

I contacted Ball canning company for advice about canning (I had the applesauce ooze over in the water bath). I was the one who hadn’t followed the directions (oops!), but they still sent me a coupon for a free box of lids to make up for the lids I wasted. What great customer service.

I wrote a company once because the BBQ we purchased (from Wal-Mart) was so fatty. They mailed about a 10 pound piece of beef to our door in dry ice. Wow!

I had gotten my kids a Lego set that was for a specific building to their collection. It was missing 3 specific Legos to finish the building. I called the company and they sent us a whole new set FOR FREE plus they sent magazine subscriptions for ALL of my kids. My kids love the Lego magazines. I was really impressed with customer service. :0)

That is awesome! Now I’m curious what the company was b/c they must have great service to treat their loyals so well!! 🙂 I had fantastic luck with Medela when I needed to get a new breast pump (mine was wearing out within the 1 yr. warranty). They sent it to me next day and had the shipping labels all ready for me to slap on the box.
Kristen says
I second this. Mine was well out of warranty while using it for baby #2, but the AC adapter was overheating and got a short in it. They sent me a new one free of charge and didn’t even require the old one to be sent back.
Tiffany says
That’s awesome! I tried to do the same thing, they however made me buy mine at Target. Mine was only a couple months past the warranty too. 🙁

I recently contacted OXO about a salad spinner I’ve had for probably 10 years. I just asked them if there was any way to take apart the lid, since mine had mold in between the two pieces of plastic. The customer service rep. said it doesn’t come apart on this model (they have changed this in the newer models) but they mailed me a new lid for free! I love good customer service.
Megan says
Just FYI….Oxo has a lifetime guarantee on all their products! They are always so nice and helpful. The most I’ve ever had to do to get a replacement item is e-mail a picture.
Jaswinder says
Congrats for your gift card and glad to know that your words are really powerful.

Wow! What a great surprise!
My husband called Moen yesterday because we have been having trouble with our kitchen faucet. He told the rep on the line how we have been very pleased with their warranty service and need help again. They are sending us an entire new kitchen faucet! Once again it pays to be nice. Guess what brand I will remember when shopping for faucets in the future!
maggie says
I have had good experience with Moen customer service too.
Lacey says
I’m happy to hear this. We bought a Moen last time just for this reason. Our previous faucet was junk.
Amanda says
Peerless also did this for us. Not too long ago I would’ve just bought a new one without a second thought…it NEVER hurts to check!
Judy says
Isn’t Moen wonderful!!! I also have received parts that basically gave me a new kitchen faucet. It probably saved me about $150.00. So few companies stand behind their products without additional fees.
