Do you feel like you just don’t measure up? That you’re not good enough? That you wish you could be successful and fulfilled in life but you’re met with failure and discouragement at every turn?
In November, I gave a talk at the Platform Conference on the 3 Lies That Are Stifling Your Success & the Truth That Will Set You Free. In this talk, I share very vulnerably about how I’ve struggled with these lies, how I’ve learned to believe truth, and how it’s transformed my life. I also share how I got started blogging, how I stuck with it, and valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Many of you who weren’t at the conference asked if there was a way you could get a download of the talk to listen to. After some effort from multiple people, we were able to get the download set up and I’m offering it as a free gift to you.
Just fill in your name and email address in the box below and then check your inbox for a confirmation email. Once you confirm your email address, the free download will be sent to you.
I hope and pray that this talk is a blessing to many people. I actually gave this talk during a really hard week in my life. One of those weeks when I felt like there was no way I could go up on a stage, let alone have anything valuable to offer.
So, as you listen to the message, I hope that it encourages you to step out and do hard things that you know you are supposed to do — even when they feel impossible and overwhelming. There is so much blessing and fulfillment in it.
Just wanted you to know seeing your email in my inbox brightens my day, a lot of your information and links have truly blessed my family, and your selfies make me smile back at you! ☺️
Thanks so much for your sweet encouragement!
Crystal! Thank you so much for sharing this talk with your readers! I have listened to it 3 time already and have been greatly encouraged by your vulnerability, courage and steadfast determination to step in to what God has called you to.
I am in a shifting season of ministry right now and the 3 points you spoke on were just what I needed to hear.
I have resolved to start with where I am at and with what & who I already know, even if it doesn’t look like what I want it to be. I am encouraged that as I make consistent effort to learn and apply that knowledge, I will grow, as will my writing and speaking.
I have officially joined the 5am club!
I am growing in the confidence that God has gifted me with something that will influence, encourage and help others to grow into the fullness of their potential as well.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement! I am so very grateful and SO, SO proud of you!
I’ll be cheering for you!
I’m having trouble getting the talk and I really want to listen to it!
Email joy @ moneysavingmom.com and she should be able to help you out. I’m sorry for the issues you’re having!
Thank you so much for sharing this! You have given me the motivation to schedule the rest of my week around launching my blog…I wouldn’t have started until next week if I hadn’t heard this today, but Thursday and Friday are now scheduled around getting started. Thank you 🙂
Woohoo! I’m so proud of you!
Thank you for this great podcast, it was great to hear your speech about the 3 biggest lies we tell ourselves and it was so very true. I would like the link you mentioned, but thought I remembered it and received an error for the worksheet, could you please provide that here?
Thanks so much for your encouragement! Here’s the correct link: https://moneysavingmom.com/platform
This was awesome! Seriously, Crystal! So good. You did a fantastic job. I actually had tears in my eyes at the end. Such a powerful message! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you so much for your sweet words of encouragement!
Listening to it now and it’s encouraging me to persevere and not quit! Thanks, Crystal! 🙂
You are so welcome!
Listened and loved. You are an awesome speaker. Glad you kicked that fear in the face. Thank you for that gift.
Awesome! Very generous. Thank you!
I enjoyed listening to the first part of this before my mp3 battery ran out! I love that you mentioned people who don’t think they believe any lies 🙂 Have you ever read the book Lies Women Believe? I’m sure I don’t agree with everything in there (can’t remember a lot of it right now!) but I KNOW I thought “I don’t believe any lies” before I read it. Then in nearly every chapter something hit me that I needed to change in my thinking 🙂
Looking forward to finishing out, and thanks for the download!
I LOVED that book! It was pretty life-transforming for me and parts of it have stuck with me for years!
Guess I need to give it another read, then! 😉
Sometimes all that is needed is a simple nap or to put some nourishing food in you (sometimes we skip meals and don’t get enough sleep b/c we are too busy or stressed, etc. which can really run us down–running our bodies into the ground. It can affect us emotionally and spiritually too. Sometimes we forget that we are “just dust” and need to give ourselves permission to rest or be refreshed, to have a break, etc.). 🙂
[1 Kings 19:4-8] NASB:
4 But he [Elijiah] himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough; now, O Lord, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers.” 5 He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, “Arise, eat.” 6 Then he looked and behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. 7 The angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you.” 8 So he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.
[I realize that this is a “physician heal thyself moment as I recognize that I need to take my own advice]. LOL 😉 Hope I got you to laugh or smile or that I helped to encourage you and minister to you. I also hope I helped you to not feel alone. Be encouraged. 🙂
I love your new hair length; your longer hair looks great on you! 🙂 Be encouraged. Also, I LOVE reading about your Africa trip. Thank you for being so brave/courageous, adventurous, open and obedient to the Lord to risk going. It is a blessing to us to see all your photos of all of the Africans’ beautiful, joyful, grateful smiles. They are truly beautiful in the Lord. We get solicitations asking for money all the time and see sad photos, etc., but it was refreshing to see their joy. It moved me to want to donate. I could see the love in their faces and eyes. They looked like such sweet people that you would trust and want to be your friend. 🙂 I am sorry that you had a hard week (every week has been a rough week for me too). I am hoping this message will help to encourage you again and to cheer you up. 🙂 Thank you for your honesty, humility and servant’s heart like Jesus. Thank you for all you do. Thanks for all the freebies you share on your site. Be encouraged. May the Lord Jesus be the lifter of your head. You are beloved by Him. You are the apple of His eye. 🙂
You have no idea how much this comment meant to me. No idea. It came at exactly when I needed to hear it. Thank you so very much.
You are absolutely welcome. You deserve it. 🙂 Hang in there. 🙂 “Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning”.- PSALM 30:5 NASB. I prayed that your shout of joy comes tomorrow morning (or earlier) from a mighty blessing from God. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to listening to it. And you are really cute, Crystal!
Aw, thank you so much for your sweet encouragement!
Listened to it while on my run today, and can I just say “wow”??? I was blown away by your confidence, and thrilled to hear some new aspects of your story that I’d never read before here. (and I am a loooonnnggg time reader)
Started reading your blog when I was 20, and looking back, I see that you have shaped my thinking and choices in big ways that I have truly benefitted from. Thank you. I am purchasing my first home this year at 25, debt free, and I don’t know that I would be in a position to do so without your constant encouragement and inspiration.
Thank you so, so much. I hope that I can meet you in person someday and give you a big hug and say thanks. 🙂
I hope we get to meet in person, too! Thank you for your sweet words. And can I just say? I am SO proud of you for purchasing your home debt-free at 25 — THAT IS AMAZING AND SO INSPIRING! You should write a guest post sometime on how you did it!

Thanks so much for sharing this Crystal! Can’t wait to listen to it.
Crystal,
Thanks again. I just finished and it was so inspiring. I am so impressed that you got up at midnight to write your book. It definitely makes me look at my own 24 hour day a lot differently!
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for your kind encouragement!
And I don’t think that I’d recommend the whole midnight thing, but it was a creative option to finish a project! 🙂
Looking forward to hearing your talk
