Good morning!! It’s Day 11 of the Get Up Early Challenge and today our bed felt so warm and our room so cold, that it took a lot of willpower to get up when my alarm went off.
But I DID… And now I’m reaping the rewards because I just enjoyed some quiet to think, pray, journal, hand-letter, read, and spend time in God’s Word.
Today, I’m challenging myself to be a noticer of beauty. To look for the beautiful. To pay attention to the good. And to savor the little joys in life. They are there… I just have to look, notice, and pay attention — instead of being caught up in the rush of life or focused on the hard, frustrating, and difficult things of life.
I’ll be hopping on Periscope around 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. to share some Morning Motivation encouragement and to some thoughts and insights from Rest Assured. I’d love for you to join me or watch the replay (just download the app and search for @MoneySavingMom).
Are you joining me for the Get Up Early Challenge? If so, leave a comment on this post to let me know how you did with your wake-up goal this morning.
We’re in this together… And if you didn’t hit your goal, that’s okay! Give yourself grace, don’t beat yourself up, and know that you can try again tomorrow!

Good for you! I love your commitment to getting up early. I imagine that you don’t go out a lot in the evening, though, do you? I went out to “Ladies Night” last night and didn’t get home until after 11:30 p.m. Needless to say, I didn’t get up at 6 a.m. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get to bed by even 10:30, which I need in order to get up on time. It’s hard knowing which commitments are worth it or not.

We do have a few evening commitments each week — but they all get over by 9 to 9:30 p.m. We save the late night commitments for Friday and Saturday nights… or every once in a blue moon! 🙂

I am trying to read my Bible/Pray daily and exercise 4x/week. I have been accomplishing this throughout the day, but not getting to my other priorities. It’s also a struggle on days I volunteer. I’ve been debating this whole getting up early thing 🙂 Today in my Bible lesson on Exodus (16:18, 21) I read that the Israelites were to gather the manna EARLY before the desert sun melted it. My commentary then goes on to say that Christians today should start their day with the Lord or our day will become cluttered, we’ll get distracted and suffer spiritual malnutrition. Wow, I feel God speaking to me! Thanks for your continued guidance in helping Women become all that God wants us to be.

I love that you have this goal and you push through it no matter how difficult it is. 🙂 I don’t personally want to get up early, and that is not something I want to do, but I do love your dedication to it. I think that is the most important part of taking challenges. It helps you to build discipline in your life and that spills over into so many other areas.

I’m not quite to 5am yet as I started the challenge a bit late (though I’ll get there!), but it has been remarkable waking up earlier and not rushing out the door. I love having time to make a hot breakfast and sit down with my Bible and devotional to get my mindset right for the day! Getting to bed at an earlier hour has been crucial.

Wow, Amy! Shower, food, AND blogging before the kids are up? Way to go!
Good morning! I love this challenge, and I think part of it is because I’m giving myself permission to go to bed earlier at night. ? I would like to do a follow-up challenge involving an evening routine and earlier bedtime.

I actually woke up before my alarm went off this morning, though I suspect it was due to having a cold and a very clogged up nose. Regardless, I appreciated the extra time to get ready for the day this morning.

I’m working my way up to waking up earlier and the cold morning and my cozy bed are working against me. However, I did get up before my kids and managed to have time to shower, fix my breakfast and work on a blog post.
Thanks for posting. My favorite posts are you personal ones 🙂
