I’ve always wondered about some of these times. For example, what happens to butter if you freeze it for more than 9 months?
Mrs. LC@LooseChangeLiving says
Butter can be frozen much longer than 9 months but it can develop an off flavor. It is still edible and fine to use in cooking but not so good on your morning toast.

Ah, makes sense when you spell it out like that. I’ve not noticed that, but I keep my butter in the deep freezer (fewer smells) and don’t use it on toast all that often. I also keep it in a giant ziploc; its to keep the freezer organized but that will help keep out smells as well.
Thanks!
