As a medical transcription for nearly 30 years, I can tell you that very few, if any, people can utilize this course and make a living from it. If you want to become an MT, which I don’t advise because technology is eliminating many jobs, find a reputable college and study.

    • This is not a medical transcription course. I don’t offer courses in medical transcription any longer mainly because I don’t see it as a growing field. Technology is not eliminating transcription jobs. In fact, the proliferation of video and audio has exponentially increased the need for qualified and trained general transcriptionists. I’m sorry you’ve been so disappointed with your career choice. Transcription has been a blessing to me and I am grateful to be able to share my experience with others.

Hi, LeeAnn! Actually, neither this course nor the full course has anything to do with medical transcription. That’s an entirely different industry. Janet’s focus and career is in general and legal transcription, which are both growing industries. Janet’s my friend, and I know she used to teach medical transcription but doesn’t anymore. I know she’d agree that MT isn’t a good career choice, but GT and LT are. And I think she’s right 🙂

Hi, I just started working as a general transcriptionists. I was just wandering will there be a future for me in this industry? And why is MT a dying field as opposed to GT ?
