P.S. I’m honored to be apart of the group of people asked to participate in this project. However, I cracked up when I saw that they are calling the people involved “Super-Successful High Achievers”.
Why? Because I sort of “bombed” my goals for 2014.
It was a good year. It was a growing year. And it was a year that our family made some really healthy changes that have paid off in big dividends for us as individuals and as a family unit.
However, I severely underestimated how much time and energy those changes and that growth would require. As a result, I’m only going to complete a few of my 2014 goals.
But honestly? I’m okay with that. The growth and health of our family is worth so much more than getting most of my goals checked off my list.
{I’ll share more on what I’ve learned about goal-setting this year and how I’m changing my goal-setting for 2015 after Christmas.}
I love your honesty! Being an outsider looking in, I’d say you had a great year. You overcame fears and did some amazing things that quite frankly, I would never have the guts to do (me? move? Umm that would be a no!). For me personally, your deal postings saved me a lot of money that I would have spent unnecessarily if I hadn’t read up on what was available.
I feel like I bombed 2014. I accomplished absolutely nothing noteworthy this year (with the exception of Chairing one pretty major PTA fundraiser). In 2015, the only thing I am hoping to accomplish is to not let people get me down. I’m so done being everyone’s doormat!
Thanks for sharing! I usually formulate a lovely list of New Year’s resolutions, and by mid-February I’ve given up on every last one of them. 🙁 I’m hoping this book will help me find a new approach with lasting results.
I perpetually struggle with setting realistic goals so I’m considering looking at it from a perspective of what are some habits I might like to add to my life.
Thanks for sharing this link. I am looking forward to your post on how you are changing your goal setting. You have inspired me to set goals. I haven’t reached all of my goals for 2014, but I am ok with that too. Your post and this ebook will help me as I prepare my 2015 goals.
I’m getting myself ready to actually goal set this year. I am looking forward to you’re write-up on it. 🙂
