How We Earned 83 Swagbucks Today (plus some quick tips!)

How We Earned 83 Swagbucks Today

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the Swagbucks tips. Keep them coming! You all are a wealth of secrets and insider tips!

We earned 83 Swagbucks so far today. We’re slowly getting closer and closer to our 100 Swagbucks per day goal! Here’s the breakdown of what we earned:

How We Earned 83 Swagbucks TodayHow We Earned 83 Swagbucks TodayI’ve been paying attention to the quick and easy offers on the homepage, trying to play videos on my phone and computer while I’m working online, always doing the NOSO, Daily Poll, using the Toolbar, and adding in Swagcodes when the toolbar alerts me that they are available.

The kids are so excited that we are getting closer and closer to their first $5 Amazon gift card. 🙂

Two quick Swagbucks tips:

1) Always check your Swagbucks inbox. I’m noticing that every day, there is usually one offer in there for a quick 2 Swagbucks.

2) Take a few minutes to check out the Book Excerpts. These are located under the Discover tab. There are 6 book excerpts there right now. Click on the book cover, click on Book Excerpt, and you’ll earn 5 Swagbucks per book! That’s an easy 30 Swagbucks! {Thanks to a few readers for tipping me off to this and giving me step-by-step help to figure out how this works! They’ve told me this section usually updates twice a month.}

  • Kimber says:

Thanks so much for the “Read” tip! I was only at 25, and I try to hit 50 per day. I’m saving up for a giveaway on my blog and I just got 30 cents closer. 🙂

  • L.L. says:

what are the special offers? do u have to buy anything? also is there a way to get swagbucks tv to run continousely on my kindle fire? i have to click on each video to watch.

    • Special offers are just videos to watch, pages to like on Facebook, articles to read, freebies to sign up for, etc. There are many, many offers that are completely free. I’d recommend using a separate email address than your regular one to sign up for things, though.

Can you download the Swagbucks apps onto your Kindle Fire? If so, you should able to click play on those and it should play continuously.

      • L.L. says:

        No unfortunately I don’t think I can

        • Melanie E. says:

Yes, you can. Follow the steps here and you can run the video apps on your Kindle. I always run the SBTV (I use the comedy section, because the clips are super short, and I can get the full 36 SB in under an hour. If it hangs up, I just switch to one of the other clip categories.)

I also have the MovieClips app loaded to my Kindle, and I usually only use that one if I have a few last SB to squeeze in for the day to reach my minimum Daily Goal. (Movie Clips requires 15 clips to reach 2 SB, not 10 like the main two apps.)

      • L.L. says:

how do i get the special offers?

    • Melanie E. says:

Also, you shouldn’t have to click to advance to the next video. Just wait a few seconds and it should move forward on its own. I know, it has a “next video” button, but you shouldn’t have to click it.

    • Chris says:

I second being able to use the Swagbucks video apps on the Kindle Fire at the link. I have all five of them downloaded, but I only use three of them to do most of my points. I use SBTV, Entertainow and Sportly.

  • great tips!!! I’m wanting to bump up my Swagbucks too so we can buy extra groceries from Amazon or treats for the new baby from Target. 🙂

  • Shari says:

So far I have 862! The surveys have been good to me today. 🙂

  • Kelly says:

Thanks for the READ tip. I have been using swagbucks for years but never saw that easy offer. So excited for an easy 30 “bucks”.
I try to meet my goal every day so that I can earn my bonus every month. I follow a simple procedure that has worked well with me without being time consuming:
AM – when I wake up I start Mobile TV on my phone (can earn 36 swagbucks a day), do the toolbar, poll and NOSO. Also, search to get a search win. At the same time I start Swag TV on my computer. As I move throughout my morning getting ready for work I keep the TV going.
Afternoon returning from work I start the TV on mobile and computer and run it while I eat, watch tv, read blogs… I will do some searches hoping to win.
I monitor my goal and if I am not going to make it I look for a few easy offers to do, play a few games or do encrave videos before bed.
I find it easy to reach 130+ swagbucks a day.

    • Susan says:

Kelly, the READ is a relatively new feature. It started maybe six months ago or so. So you haven’t been missing out for years. 🙂

  • Amie says:

I love the book tip. I just got 25 more points. I am at 119 so far. I let my phone run EntertaiNOW and my tablet ran swagbuckstv until I maxed out. I will run another app after I max out EntertaiNOW. I had a bonus of 25 points because I had printed enough coupons. I wasn’t even aware that this was an offer. I shopped with several coupons I printed through swagbucks as well, but they will be credited later. I was so excited by all the tips yesterday. I had no idea that there were apps beside swagbuckstv. I am too busy to give swagbucks a lot of direct time so these apps are great. I even cashed in some points for a $5 cvs card. With these new tips, I should be able to earn $5-10 per week in gift cards.

    • jennifer bealmer says:

Does swagbuckstv run continously or do you have to click on the next video? Also is it an android or Apple app?

      • Amie says:

It runs continuously, but does freeze up sometimes. I run it when I am doing errands. This app is available for apple and android. The other swagbucks apps seem to be just for android. I could only install them on my phone. I let swagbuckstv run on a tablet.

  • Victoria says:

The Book points are great! My kids favorite videos to watch from Swagbucks when they were smaller are the animal channel they are super short and kids who love animals love them.

  • Amie says:

Can someone tell me how to earn points playing games and if there are any games appropriate for a 6 y-o? I am considering letting my son help earn a few points.

    • My kids love Swagbucks Jump. You can earn 2 Swagbucks every other time you play, up to 10 Swagbucks per day.

    • Jen says:

If you click on Play on the top of the homepage, it will take you to the games SB has available to play. You can choose one – I like the 3D Majhongg. It’s not the shortest game, but I like it the best. You click Play for Free. For every two games you play, you get two SB. There is a max of 10 SB per day by playing the games for free.

They used to have much shorter games, but they seem to have parted ways with the company that offered them.

  • Susan says:

The Jun group videos are easy points, but you do have to click through them. Every now and then they’ll run continuously in the background, but usually not. They’re on the main page — look for the image of a guy looking at a laptop. He comes and goes, but lately he’s been there almost always.

If you have time on your hands and the desire, read through the comments on the daily poll. Little gems of information about earning swagbucks pop up in there.

Also, sbcodez dot com is a good site to check periodically for codes, especially if you’re like me and don’t want the toolbar.

The “reads” are easy points. I don’t take the time to try and hit my daily goal every day. But I save the “reads” for days when I’m a few points away from goal so I can get a few quick easy bucks to set me over goal.

    • I was trying the Jun group videos yesterday and they seemed to be taking a really long time. I’ll have to try again!

Thanks for the tip on reading the comments on the daily poll!

      • Susan says:

Most of the comments I find to be a waste of time. But every now and then a nice little gem of information pops up in there. That’s where I first learned about the READ thing, and that the SBTV mobile was reduced from 50 to 36.

I’ve seen comments in there with what seem to be good tips about games. I’m not a game player, but for those who are …

  • Billene says:

112 SwagBucks earned today. Be sure to check the special offers category , Radium One. There is often a coupon offer where you select one coupon and recieve 2 SB. You don’t have to print, only select the coupon.

  • Susan says:

If you go to the Discover Encrave page, some of the images have a little blue round thingie. Some commented (might have been yesterday) about the one with the squirrel — that’s one but there are others. If they have the little blue round thingie, you can start the video and set it to move continuously from one to the other, so you dont’ have to click though them.

You can’t click onto another window tho, or it won’t keep going. You have to leave it as the active window on your computer. So sometimes start one and let it run while I’m away from my computer doing something else.

They reward anywhere from 2 to 8 (I think) swagbucks depending on how many videos there are in the link.

  • Bobbie says:

How do you do the reads. I don’t seem to credit for those.

    • Jen says:

You have to click on the “Read Excerpt” button on the landing page for each book. After that, you should get credit.

      • Teresa says:

followed the “Read Excerpt” but still don’t get a credit:(

        • Try again. It didn’t work for me the first time either.

          • Jen says:

Hmmm..I use Chrome. Maybe it’s picky with certain browsers.

            • Melanie E. says:

No, I use Chrome, and have no problem.

When you hover over the picture of the book, is it still saying “5 SB” or has it gone to “0 SB”?

There is a contact link somewhere on the site, but I’ve never bothered with it. I only do super-easy things and I figure it would take me longer to straighten out a lack of credit for something that it would be simpler to just move on to the next thing. But it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

    • Melanie E. says:

Click on the picture, and another page pops up. The picture on the “Read” page will give you the instructions on what to do on the web page. Right now, all the offers are for “Read Excerpt”, but pay attention, because sometimes the instruction is to click on the trailer for the book. Usually, trailers are 2 SB, and the excerpts are 5. You don’t have to actually watch or read, they will credit the instant you click on the correct item.

    • Susan says:

I’ve not always been credited for reads. Most of the time they work for me, but not always. Sometimes the credits come a day or two later.

Sometimes you have to sign up for alerts from the author in order to get swagbucks, sometimes you have to read the excerpt, sometimes both. I haven’t noticed much consistency here.

At least that’s been my experience.

  • Bobbie says:

    Thank you

  • Miranda says:

I only earned 5 SB and I opened all of the book excerpts. Is there a trick to it?

  • Joy Prevatte says:

i clicked on the book cover and then excerpt but I am not getting any points. Did I miss something?? Thanks for your help!

  • Denise says:

Try to get your first goal listed ever day. You’ll get the bonus sb the next month. Under your sb points, there is a “winning streak”. It’s for the calendar month. You get bonuses the longer you meet your first goal. 7 days in a row is 25 sb, 14 days is 100 sb, 21 days is 200 sb and an entire month is 300 sb.
Always try 5 surveys. If you don’t qualify, you get 1 sb for trying with a max of 5 sb per day. The Jun videos from the front page with the guy at the laptop is 2sb and you can do quite a few in a day. On your phones or tablets, load the SBTV (do the 10 second home and garden videos) and Entertainow (do the touch videos) apps. They can run for a total of 36 sb per day each app. Hope that helps!

  • Ann says:

Definitely do the following for over 100 SB a day easy:

    * apps – I have an iPhone and an iPad and currently they are running the EntertaiNow and SBTV Mobile apps. You do need to watch them carefully because they will often lock up on ads so I just have them sitting next to me while I’m on the computer and will hit “Replay” at the end of the video which then will skip the ads. Since they decreased how much you can earn on these apps (I think it’s 36 SB each), you can get through these pretty quickly.

    * games – I play Swagasaurus Run and just let him run off the cliff. Make sure you go back to the game page after each game and you easily get 10 SB for this each day. Alternatively, let your children play the games – mine love to play them for me!

    * Laptop Guy – This is a guy on the home page who is sitting at a laptop. These are the Jun videos and I think you can get 54 SB from him right now. I have him running in the background as I type this.

    * Dailies – NOSO, Daily Poll, Daily Crave and Tool Bar will get you at least 10 points each day.

    * Searches – I’ve been having a hard time searching but I aim to get that one win a day. I used to easily get 2-3 a day but not anymore.

All of these things can be done while you are puttering around on the computer and will easily get you over 100 SB a day.

  • Candace says:

You can favorite short videos on the apps. Just swipe it to the left and a heart should pop up. Then go to the button on the top left and click on favorites. The short video will loop and the app will reach its max faster. I run all 6 apps to their max (36sb for all but Lifestylz, which is 20), so 200sb a day just from those!

    • Jennifer says:

What are the 6 different apps? I’m aware of SBTV and EntertainNow, but that’s it. Had no idea there were so many ways to earn SBs!!

  • Melanie E. says:

Did Bing Rewards get mentioned? It takes about 5 minutes per day, and you can earn enough in a month to trade in for 500 SB, with a few Bing points left over.

    • brenda says:

I second the recommendation for Bing.
When I first signed up, i did it for the Swagbucks but now i don’t even bother with that since you can earn a $5 Amazon gift card directly from Bing for 500 points and they send the rewards instantly.
You receive 1 credit for every 3 searches you do on the Bing site up to a maximum of 30 credits per day (this number changes depending on your status, I think when you start out it’s 1 credit for every 2 searches for a maximum of 15 credits per day)
It sounds like a ridiculous amount of searching per day but you can limit your time by using the “Related Searches” column. Simply type in any search word or phrase and then look towards the right of the page for the links to “Related Searches” Each time you click on one of those it will count as a search. It seriously takes me less than 5 minutes a day to earn my max and I can earn 2 $5 Amazon cards a month.

      • Melanie E. says:

Thanks for the direct Amazon card tip – I hadn’t revisited the Redeem page lately and didn’t know we could get them directly.

How do you get to the 30/day level? I’ve been at Gold status for months now, but I still only get 15 points/day for searches, plus one or two for whatever 1-click items are in the drop down menu. I’ve had access to the 30 points on special days, but the last one was a long time ago.

        • Melanie E. says:

Oh, wait, I just realized – trading in for Swagbucks is still the better deal, because if you trade in for SB, you get the $5 Amazon GC and still have 50 SBs left over!

          • brenda says:

I honestly don’t know why I have 30 points and you still have 15 points max per day. I thought it was a perk for being at the gold status. Also, the $5 Amazon Gift Cards are only 475 points for Gold members so it’s not too much higher than Swagbucks and I always max out on the Amazon cards for Swagbucks (you can only order 5 per month of the $5 ones).

            • Melanie E. says:

Huh. Both of those cost only 475 for me at Gold Status as well. But that means you either get a straight $5 GC if you cash it in at Bing, or 500 SB if you cash in for them, which would mean you’d have $5 Amazon plus an extra 50 points left over.

Do you use Bing for other searches besides the daily credit? Maybe that makes the difference in why you get access to the 30 point level?

              • Melanie E. says:

Ah. I did a little searching. It seems that they randomly allow a few people to have a 30 points/day account. So I guess you are one of the lucky few! 😉

  • Jennifer says:

Does it take a little while for the swagbucks to “go through” after reading the excerpts?

    • Melanie E. says:

It’s supposed to be instant, but not all of them are working for everyone. My daughter’s account, running on Firefox, would only do 4 of the current 6 for some reason. The pages come up, but the credit never shows. (And the 5 points are still showing on the Read page as available. So it’s not registering the clicks for some reason.)

  • Vicky says:

Is the Entertain Now app a completely different app than the one to watch swag bucks tv? How many different apps are there to actually have for an iPhone and if one has an android phone just for the apps how many different ones are there for it? You can have apps running on both? Plus the laptop or desktop?
I feel like we need some smart person out there to make a spreadsheet for all these amazing ways to earn points!!
I personally don’t understand why anyone complains about swag bucks. Its completely free to use and makes a person extra money. It does require a use of a persons time but we all are in charge of our own time. If thats not how a person wants to spend their time then simply don’t do it. I love making money while watching a movie or doing dishes or laundry. Thank you all for sharing tips on how to earn!

  • Nicole says:

I LOVE Swagbucks, but be VERY careful with Encrave. It has all kinds of malware attached to it. It crashed a computer and I’ve seen on the SW blogs that it has happened to many others. I will do basic searching, the daily polls and very select other things. Make sure your security is up to date if you try to use Encrave.

  • Denise says:

Thanks for sharing…I keep trying to pick up some of these surveys, but 50 SB for a half hour of my time is rather nervy. And they keep throwing nonsense at you–they never end! Either that, or I go through all the hoops only to find out that I “don’t qualify”. How much time does SB think we all have to sit there endlessly, wasting time? If I was going to see a payoff somewhere, sure, but–come on. Sorry for the rant, but they get frustrating sometimes. Who the heck do you have to be to qualify for a survey???

  • Amie says:

I just wanted to thank everyone again for the tips. I have put no additional effort into swagbucks, other than to download new apps and clicking on the books, and I am close to 300 points since cashing out a 500 point gift card yesterday. I am very grateful. 🙂

  • Llama Mama says:

Is it appropriate to have your 7 year old “do” Swagbucks as an extra income earner for them? I’m pretty busy working more than full-time from home so my own use of it has been extremely limited but I certainly don’t want her filling out surveys or signing up for “freebies”, etc. I’ve watched news videos mostly on there myself. Are there age appropriate things or are there too many things of adult nature to run the risk of letting a child that age feel she’s helping to earn income? Any advice? Thanks!

    • My kids do the games (for 10 Swagbucks per day) and then I’m exploring the animal videos to see if those are all kid-friendly for them to watch. Silas (5 years old) is highly competitive and really, really into earning Swagbucks, so I’m trying to come up with more things for him to do because he maxes out his 10 game points really quickly each day now that he’s learned how to do the games and is itching for more ways to earn Swagbucks.

  • Jennifer says:

Can you get 36 SBs each from the SBTV mobile app and from running it on your computer, being able to earn 72 total? Or just 36 total from either of them combined?

  • Kathy Fugate says:

I just signed up for swagbucks, and I’m gradually getting it figured out, but already I’ve encountered a problem. I clicked on a survey for which I was supposed to start getting samples and coupons for Olay products, but all of the questions were about my car insurance. After answering a few, I realized they wanted to try to get me to change insurance companies, so I exited the survey without completing it, and even though I didn’t finish it, I immediately started being bombarded with phone calls from insurance agents. How can I avoid this?
