This sounds interesting. I make a lot of Amish Friendship Bread and the recipe calls for a box of instant pudding. Could you tell me about home many boxes your recipe makes? Thanks!

Per the pudding directions, one recipe yields 4 cups of pudding. I believe the box mixes use 2 cups of milk. So, simply halve the pudding mix in the instructions which would be 7/8 cup or – 1 cup minus 2 Tb.
Does the bread use chocolate pudding? There is an instant vanilla pudding mix recipe on the same website. Have a great day!

This looks delicious, but it isn’t what I consider instant pudding. You have to cook, then chill the pudding.

this isn’t really instant though. You have to boil it on the stove. It’s more like Jello’s cooked mix. Not their instant mix. The instant one you just toss some milk into it and stick it in the fridge.

Exactly! The instant pudding mixes have some fancy binders and starches in them so they don’t need to be cooked to thicken. Instant and cooked pudding mixes are not interchangeable in recipes… 🙂
