If you were considering making your own list of books you want to read after I posted my list of 24 books I plan to read in 2012 yesterday, you can download a customizable printable Books I Plan to Read list.
Type in the books you want to read, save the file, and then you can print it. Or, just print it blank and hand write your list. It would be fun to then save this list at the end of the year to refer back to in a few years from now to see what you were reading and what interested you in 2012.

Thank you for the printable reading list! As a kid I loved to read books but since getting married I have slowed down on reading. I really enjoyed planning out what books to read for the whole year, and I look forward to reading them!

I tried to answer the financial question . The main answer I have found over 50 years and a family of 9 is that the software or system is only as great as the person using it. If you “forget” to enter items often and find yourself over often you understand what I mean. Most folks who earn enough never feel it but they are spending more than they realize that they are. Those who do not have the overage see the outcome in statements every month. So they feel the overage deeply. So the main answer is find a system that works for you and it could be that what works while your kids are young is a different system that what works during your retirement.

I love the list to help keep me on track!! I’ve aways loved to read but since having children I just haven’t made the time to fit it in, until recently. I joined a book club with some friends and we read one book a month and then get together at one person’s home to discuss the book and just have some good “girl” time eating & socializing. This has been a lot of fun and also encourages me to read the book within the month so I know what everyone is talking about!! These are mostly fiction but some are non-fiction.
As a personal goal I would like to add one or two books per month that will encourage me as a mother & wife or just help me in areas of life I’m wanting to improve. Personal growth type books 🙂 I’m hoping your printable sheets will help me get it on paper and stick to this goal. Also I love some of the book titles you are reading and may add a few of these to my list!
Thank you!

You might want to consider setting up a free account on GoodReads.com. You can put your books that you intend to read and then rate and review them after you have read them. Your friends can view your comments too.

I started keeping a very simple reading journal at the beginning of 2011 and I’ve really enjoyed it. It is just a Word file that lists the title of each book, author, date finished, format (book, ebook, audiobook) and my thoughts. I love having it to refer back to.

Thank you for the printable! I have a list of books that I want to read… I just need to get them organized for what I want to read first. I’d thought of doing one book a month for this next year, but I have too many books I want to read – might have to make it 2 books a month like you do…

I’m so glad you have discovered audio books!! I am a great fan of them. I started listening to them on my daily commute to and from work. Now that I am retired, I listen to them while quilting. I just finished Boomerang by Michael Lewis about the international financial crisis. You can get many good audio books from the library too.
