Every week day in May, I’m challenging my readers to try to find at least 7 things to get rid of. These can be big or small things, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you actually throw them out, sell them, donate them, recycle them, or find someone else who can use them. Think you’re up for the challenge?
It’s been a fantastic, but very full weekend at the Teach Them Diligently Conference. Not only did I speak four times, but I also got to attend a few sessions, and had a wonderful time getting to hang out with Todd and Angie Smith.
I’m late in getting this posted since I was offline so much this weekend, but I did collect another pile of samples earlier this weekend to get rid of. (I use almost all the free samples that come in the mail, but I find that there are a few I think I’ll use that then just end up hanging around in there forever and just take up space. So I cleaned these out and came up with eight samples to get rid of. Yay!

Again, samples. I think this is a good hint for me to clean out my samples!

I don’t know if this happeneded to anyone else, but I had a minor allergic reaction to the warming cepacol. I’m not sure what it was but I’m glad it was just a sample and not something I paid for! I gave them away too!

For awhile I was listing every single item and then I gave up on that, at least posting them. I am keeping track on paper, though and am thrilled at how things are going . . . Going to the trash, to the recycle vin, to the donation bags, and to our church.
A plus is that I went to a huge yard sale yesterday and spent less than two dollars, because I am determined not to bring in things I so not need, or that will not go into a gift closet.
I still have not gone through my clothes in the closet, so I am anxious to,get that done!

Crystal, I know this is off topic but I love that green shirt you’re wearing under the jacket. I know you’ve posted before about your minimalist wardrobe and I was wondering if you would spill the beans as to where you got it? Thanks for inspiring me every day!

I got it from Maurices. My sister took me shopping a few weeks ago because I desperately needed to get some new clothes for events/speaking and I loathe trying to pick outfits out (I’m weird like that, I know!). She helped me come up with two outfits that I love. Plus, they were running a sale so it ended up being a lot less than I was expecting!

Pretty much got rid of the lil samples earlier in this challenge. I decided this weekend that I am going to do 40 days (I am doing every day of the month in May, not just during the weekends) as I *still* have so much more to go through. This weekend I got rid of an eyeshadow kit that I’ve had since high school. I graduated in 1987. 🙂

Oops…. I meant “not just during the weekDAYS.”

I put my extras in a box. When it’s full I drop it off at the local public school or church. There always seems to be a need.

If we lived out there I would have totally taken the Cepacol off your hands! My youngest loves them and the poor dear suffers from a whole plethora of allergy problems. Glad to hear you had a good time at your conference!

We try to use our samples as we get them so we don’t get over run with them. If I get too many I will share with family. Glad to hear you had a good time at the conference too.
